The Slow Deliberate Murder of a Muslim KingHis beautiful Passion for Peace was Finally CrushedYesterday, June 25, 2005 in Amman Jordan, was not a particularly eventful day for me.Probably my most exciting experience was hearing the sound of scissors flashing near my large but vulnerable ears as I was having a badly needed haircut. But, reflecting back on the emotions that stirred within me yesterday due to my reading, they were some of the strongest feelings of both rage and empathy that I had ever previously experienced. These strong feeling were a combination of feelings that I have had over the years when they became mixed with more feelings being inspired by an amazing book by Queen Noor of Jordan. Background When I was attending high school in Kansas City Kansas, I had very little interest in anything occurring in the world beyond the narrow mainly Sante Fe railroad community where I grew up called “Argentine.”Nevertheless, one day when I did happen to read a magazine, I saw a picture of a young sixteen year old being crowned King of Jordan.I was fascinated and remained drawn to this person all the days of his life as the King of Jordan.I suppose that it added to my interest in him due to my own family of seven seeking refuge in Amman Jordan when we fled from the Civil war in Lebanon in October of 1975. I had been employed as a counselor at the American Community School in Beirut , Lebanon. Years later, in the early nineties our only son, while working with relief efforts in Jordan, helped settle refugees there who were fleeing from the instability in the Gulf area during and after the first Gulf War. Also, the fact this King later was inflicted with the same horrible disease, lymphoma, which took the life of my own dear wife of 38 years and our five children’s beloved mother, was another emotional tie with the Jordanian King.Another strong tie with Jordan occurred when a series of unusual circumstances brought a lovely Jordanian woman into my life that would soon become my wife. Significantly, it was a paper, which I had written about the first Gulf War, the war the King had tried so hard to prevent, which was the circumstance which brought our two lives together. Returning to my strong feeling of rage and empathy triggered by the book written by the King’s dedicated widow. There were mainly three ugly circumstances during his life which stirred deep emotions within me and one more unfortunate circumstance after his death which was not mentioned in the Queen’s book but of which I became aware. Each of these regrettable circumstances involved from any perspective, vicious betrayals of this King who had made such consistent efforts to bring peace, mutual respect and cooperation to the war torn region. Betrayal One The first betrayal was the direct result of enormous lies told by the Egyptian Military Commander in Chief of all the Arab Forces during the very brief 1967 war. Before the war began, the Jordanian King totally realized that even the combined forces of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan had no chance to win a war with the much better equipped Israeli forces. He also was convinced that war was not the answer to complex problems. Consequently, he did everything he could to both prevent the war and/or to keep Jordan and the Palestinians out of it if at all possible. For all practical purposes, the brief war was effectively over before it had a chance to begin. This was due to Israel’s superior Air Force destroying the entire Egyptian Air Force while it was still on the ground. But an inexcusable and unexplainable blatant lie was announced on the radio by the Egyptian Commander in Chief regarding an alleged defeat of 75% of the Israeli Air Force and did not mention the total destruction of the Egyptian Air Force on the ground. Moreover, these false facts were actually repeated to King Hussein by Egyptian President Nasser and thus assured Jordan’s significant involvement in the war with the resulting loss of men, the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian West Bank Territory and Gaza . The Israelis also occupied Egypt’s Sainai and Syrias’s Golan Heights. The excessive, unnecessary losses by the Jordanians and the subsequent prolonged suffering of especially the Palestinians occurred as a direct result of the totally reckless decisions of the Egyptian Commander of the United Arab Forces. He irresponsibly ordered the weak and ill equipped Jordanian forces into the conflict even though he knew they no longer had any chance of aiding the cause of the United Arab Forces. Betrayal Two The next horrible betrayal concerned the First Gulf War when Iraq became convinced by deceptive U. S. State Department statements that the U. S. would not interfere if Iraq invaded Kuwait. In this tragic situation it was the U. S. Administration and especially President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt who most blatantly betrayed King Hussein. The Jordanian King had the heart of a peacemaker and had flown to Iraq to attempt to personally persuade the Iraqi President to withdraw from Kuwait after his invasion in order to avoid the U. S. forming an alliance which would destructively drive him from Kuwait and bring terrible upheaval and suffering to the people of several nations. Instead of being recognized by U. S. leaders and the leaders of Arab nations for his efforts as peacemaker, it was only ALLAH and his Risen Messiah who had deep appreciation for the vital, humanitarian role this courageous, compassionate King attempted to play in order to avert a tragic war.Instead of receiving any praise or thanks for his strenuous efforts, this man of peace was demonized and vilified for supposedly having significant involvement with Saddam Hussein in causing the war.But this was an obvious lie because King Hussein had called both President Bush and the British Ambassador previous to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and tried to persuade them to use their power to take immediate steps to prevent an Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. But neither man appeared to take him seriously. In her revealing book, “Leap of Faith,” Queen Noor sadly reflects on how she and her husband were puzzled, hurt and deeply disappointed by the lack of positive response by both Arab leaders and especially U. S. leaders regarding both King Hussein’s warnings and efforts to keep the invasion of Kuwait from occurring and from preventing the war after the preventable invasion did occur. What neither the King nor his Queen had any way of knowing at the time, nor would they have had any reason to take it seriously had they known it, is that one person in Seattle Washington had personally received a direct word from ALLAH, regarding Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. This revelation was about the U. S. wanting Iraq to invade Kuwait revealing that the U. S. actually desired that the horrible Gulf war would occur. The U. S. was only putting on a big international public relations show that they were sincerely trying to persuade Saddam Hussein to withdraw his forces from Iraq in order to appear to the world that the U.S. was trying to prevent the Gulf war.But since this revelation would have absolutely no credibility and I would have come across to others as a strange religious fanatic, they would not have taken my revelation seriously even if they had heard about it. It was about five weeks after the August 2nd Iraqi invasion of Kuwait when I supernaturally received this direct message from ALLAH’S Spirit which revealed why the King’s warnings and pleas to the first President Bush were cleverly deflected by the devious President and his associates like nature cleverly deflects water from a duck’s back. A Voice From Above A minute or two after I had discontinued intense prayer against the U. S. possibly beginning to bomb Iraqi troops in Kuwait, ALLAH’s Spirit unexpectedly but explicitly spoke the following precise words quite distinctly inside of my mind. “The American Administration wanted Iraq to invade Kuwait!” There is the possibility that it was not the verb “wanted” that I heard but rather it was the two words “planned for”.But I did not have a paper to immediately write the precise words. It soon became obvious to me that if the Creator of the universe took the trouble to inform one significant American regarding secret deception by his own government about an immoral invasion that occurred which could have quite probably been prevented, then I had a responsibility to take this personal revelation seriously. So I became convinced that the Almighty had specific reasons for giving me the amazing revelation because at the time of the revelation, it had not even occurred in my wildest imagination that my own U. S. Government would not try its best to prevent an invasion of a sovereign nation if it had any way to do so. With this specific knowledge almost violently stirring within me, immediately after attending a short workshop in connection with my school employment on how to write a certain kind of basic rhyme, I suddenly began releasing some of my pent up thoughts and emotions on paper.A long very basic poem was the result, which I soon mailed to influential persons especially in the Middle East and also in the U. S.Fortunately I had recently met a wonderful and gifted Palestinian Muslim translator, so copies of the poem along with an explanatory cover letter were soon in the mail in English or in Arabic, to about two thousand influential persons through out the Mid East and the U.S.. The poem took the form of a meditation in which the President of the United States, the first George Bush was thinking through his own personal geo-political excuses for setting up Kuwait to be his live bait for Iraq to invade and thus provide him with an internationally acceptable excuse to have a destructive war with Iraq in order to especially deal with that nation’s potential to have weapons of mass destruction but also to prevent Iraq from being too much of a threat to Israel. I did take advantage of what is commonly referred to as “poetic license,” where the poet adds to reality in order to make a needed point. So I obviously wrote some thoughts into the poem, which the President himself probably never thought of. Nevertheless, I am personally convinced that the poem, which I named, “The President’s Plan” and is on this web site, does generally capture the spirit of the Administration’s rationale and its geo-political desire. That Bush Administration thought it badly needed an invasion of Kuwait to occur to provide it with an excuse to fulfill its geo-political ambitions in a precisely similar way that the second Bush Administration frantically settled on potential weapons of mass destruction as its supposedly international acceptable excuse to send its troops to Iraq to carry out its geo-political purposes there. Why there is not more being said and written about the two quite similar deceptions, I do not know. But the two wars are similar with both the people of Iraq and the people of Kuwait being the first set of suffering victims and mainly the people of Iraq and unfortunate persons in mostly the U. S. military being the second set of victims. The poetry itself is fairly bad but being so limited in my ability to write poetry leaves me with a certain advantage. It leaves me free to communicate my thoughts somewhat clearly without being so deep that persons cannot understand what I am trying to say. One of my own favorite verses in the poem concerns how the U. S. tries to claim that it clearly warned Iraq not to invade Kuwait but they just ignored our warnings and invaded any way. I think this verse pretty well exposes that lame excuse by us and reveals the shallowness of the Administration’s claim that it did every thing it reasonably could have to both prevent the invasion and to also prevent the ensuing destructive war. “We will say we sternly warned Iraq to keep from fighting, But we just plain forgot to putOur warning into writing.” I sent out the poem with a cover letter briefly explaining that I was convinced I had personally received a brief, concise revelation from GOD exposing my leader’s duplicity. I received very few responses. In the U. S., I included mayors, governors, congresspersons educators etc. For the Middle Eastern persons of influence, I sent out a professionally done Arabic translation of the poem.Though I received very few responses, four of the responses, which I did receive, were exceptionally encouraging. Two of these responders, both African-Americans, died within a few years of replying and I have no way of knowing about the circumstances of the other two responders. Dr. Barbara
Jordan, a now deceased universally respected Afro-American Statesperson from A fifth significant response was not a personal response but was a form letter from either the Texas or New Mexico Representative, the fairly senior member of the House, Henry Gonzalez. He was exceptionally candid in voicing his total disgust to his voting constituents with the media’s complicity in spreading the Bush Administration’s misinformation and lies about the Gulf war and emphatically stated that no such extreme misinformation had ever before occurred in the history of our nation. I received a quite negative reply from a woman Jr. College President blasting me for having the audacity to think that the leaders of our nation would ever enter a war with impure motives. My sincere wish is that she is right. Nevertheless, I cannot live with myself if I do not do what I can do to expose what I am convinced is misinformation that is exceptionally injurious to both the people of the U. S. but is also quite damaging to persons of other nations. Significantly, several weeks after sending out the poem and a cover letter regarding the circumstances of my writing the poem and an honest but mild as I could state it, my experience of receiving a word from ALLAH regarding the deception of my government, I awoke in the middle of the night with an overwhelming and deep conviction.I was convinced that because my own government had taken a series of extremely deceptive steps to bring great harm to another nation when it made certain that the Gulf war occurred, I had an additional responsibility.I reasoned that since it was my own nation and not Iraq which was the most responsible for the human tragedy in Iraq and Kuwait occurring and that it was not primarily Iraq which had caused the horrible war, that ALLAH would eventually require my own nation to pay for all the blood it was causing to flow like a mighty river in Iraq and to a lesser extent in Kuwait. Consequently I felt that the foundations of the legal apparatus in our nation had a major responsibility to speak up against this travesty of justice so that we would not dig ourselves into too deep a pit of filth before our Eternal Judge. Therefore, I went to the library and obtained the name and address of each and every law school in the U. S., which in my simple reasoning have an ultimate and basic responsibility to see that our national government obeys both the laws of our nation and the laws of GOD. In my cover letter to the law schools, I compared our nation for the much innocent blood that we were shedding in Iraq and Kuwait, to a national “Jeffrey Dahmer.” I explained that if we did not check our evil appetite for consuming other nations when we reasoned that it was in our national interest to do so, that we would relatively soon receive severe judgment from GOD. (Jeffrey Dahmer became a 1980’s media sensation when as a relatively young man he engaged in a series in hideous crimes. He first lured teenage boys to his apartment. There he drugged them and against their will forced them to have sex with him. Then he murdered them, cut them up and stored their frozen body parts in his freezer, until he later ate them. This vicious, psychologically sick person was later murdered in prison by one of the disgusted prisoners. Even though I did not receive one response from any of the more than three hundred law schools to which I mailed the letters and poems.Nevertheless, I felt that I possibly accomplished something that has significance with GOD.I had fulfilled a small part of His plan when I awkwardly tried to help one significant national institution, the U. S. law schools realize that ALLAH Himself has taken many many steps to warn this nation to mind its ways of treating the innocent people of nations like Kuwait and Iraq like they are useless disposable objects for the sake of the long term strategic needs of the U. S. (Whereas, Christian ministers in the U. S. constantly blame and bash gay people for bringing judgment on the U. S. such as has recently appeared to occur especially in New Orleans and now in Texas, the gay people were not the persons I saw bringing inevitable judgment on the U. S. when I wrote my letters and sent my poems to all the U. S. law schools. Rather, I was pleading with the law Professors to use our supposedly enlightened legal system to stop our government and warn our government to stop butchering people in other nations to fulfill the perceived strategic needs of the U. S. and the needs of big business. For instance, do most people realize that the immoral/amoral monster Halliburton has had its stock increase three fold since its former President, Dick (slick) Cheney has used his influence to get the U. S and Halliburton involved in war contracts in Iraq? Halliburton has made billions and billions of dollars off of the blood that has been unnecessarily spilled in that butchered nation. So I let all these laws schools know that dreadful judgment was coming on our nation unless someone or some institution would take responsibility for warning our national leaders that GOD would no longer tolerate our exploitation and butchering of other nations to meet our own needs. But my feeble warnings to the law schools to warn our government were deflected like water runs off a duck’s back. (Whether the Gulf Coast horrible hurricane disaster is a part of the judgment I felt compelled to predict, I have no way of knowing.) Yet, in a manner of speaking I did receive a few responses from U. S. law schools regarding my poems and letters. For several years I received yearly financial appeal letters for me to send donations to several law schools because of the vital and relevant training that they are providing for tomorrows leaders. So the suppression of accurate information by the U. S of why the invasion of Kuwait was actually encouraged to occur and the subsequent distortion of information so that it has not been revealed that the subsequent war was also desired by the U. S. has continued unabated.Additionally, considering all the sincere but totally unappreciated, undermined and sabotaged efforts that one King Hussein made to prevent the tragic war from occurring, it is absolutely wicked what the President of Egypt, Hosni Mubarah, personally did against the sincere, vulnerable, peacemaker King who was trying so hard to prevent a preventable war.The pregnant with deceit President of Egypt told grandiose lies to U. S. leaders, to various Senators, and to Arab Heads of State regarding King Hussein’s alleged cooperation with Iraqi’s President, telling them that he was complicit in the invasion of Kuwait and had personal plans for profiting in the benefits of the invasion and to potentially profit from Iraq taking over Kuwait. In fact, the supposedly Muslim President Mubarak must be an absolute atheist or he would be trembling every day regarding the terrible judgment from ALLAH which he most certainly will receive as punishment for the ugly lies he told about a man who was serving as ALLAH’s peace envoy, King Hussein. Betrayal Three Because of things about which I was unaware before reading Queen Noor’s accounts of his vicious slander of King Hussein I had previously had some respect for President Mubarak of Egypt. However, I never did discover anything for which I could respect former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel. Virtually everything I have read about him over the years or the arrogance I constantly observed in his T.V. interviews all caused me not to trust him and to respect him even less. The one possible exception is that I never read about his children feeling compelled to run away from the negativity and intimidation that must have been a regular part of their household existence.I am not exaggerating when I say that as a school counselor, I would have been required by law to report to CPS (Child Protective Service) for investigation some of the suspicious accidents which I have read in the newspaper about his small children unexplainably having. Then it would have been professional investigators who would have determined if their had been child abuse. Though policies by Prime Minister Netanyahu may not appear to have been personal betrayals of King Hussein, from my perspective, psychologically it would have been almost impossible for the King not to take this calloused man’s deliberate and calculated obstruction of the peace process between the Israelis and the Palestine as personally against all that the Jordanian King had attempted to accomplish for both the Jewish people as well as for Palestinians and Jordanians. To say that Prime Minister Netanyahu cruelly betrayed the efforts of this courageous King as he callously obstructed all of the King’s efforts to achieve a meager amount of justice for the Palestinians is a serious understatement. His unabated building of illegal settlements on illegally occupied Palestinian land, his doing everything he conceivably could in order to prevent Palestinians from receiving anything close to resembling a just settlement has been exceptionally depressing to observe. Any other crimes which could be listed, would each demonstrate his consistent betrayal of the noble efforts of the King to help Palestinians. Furthermore, when the wife of the Israeli Prime Minister was having a personal conversation with Queen Noor, she also revealed to the Queen her total support of her husband in his disgust for and low opinion of Palestinians. She also unexpectedly revealed to the Queen her enthusiastic support for the blatant lie on which Zionism was founded, that Palestinians in reality, did not exist when compared with Jewish people: “A land without a people for a people without a land.” Betrayal Four I did not include this last personal betrayal as a betrayal directly contributing to the King’s death by slow incremental murder because this fourth cruel betrayal occurred after his death when he should have had years yet to serve the people of the Middle East. But I happen to be influenced by what I have heard about knowledgeable medical specialists believing that persistent, intense stress contributes to the onset of lymphoma. So I am personally convinced that ALLAH may hold these three men, two Egyptians and an Israeli as well as certain U. S. leaders in the first Bush Administration, but not the instigator of betrayal number four, as complicit in the horrible stress which directly contributed to the King’s death by lymphoma. Therefore, from my perspective they were each quite complicit in his slow, deliberate murder.Even though they each may have shown sincere grief at this amazing statesman’s funeral, this did not absolve any of them in the evil complicity of his death. Yes, they may each have had genuine sorrow when he prematurely departed from the world which needed his peacemaking skills so badly. Nevertheless, there was even one more bitter betrayal, which was to come from a member of his own family, which would have hurt the King’s tender heart more than all of the other betrayals combined if he had known during his lifetime that this cruel betray was to come. But, because he did not know, this last betrayal did not contribute to his death. So this final betrayal is written about in my paper, ”The Cheap Betrayal of a Muslim King.” Epilogue: Three Objections Among the many ideas that readers may object to in this paper are especially the following. Some may consider it totally inappropriate that I would include in the title of this paper the strong adjective “deliberate” before the action verb, “murder”. They would say that even if I am correct that the deliberate lies that the Egyptian field commander blatantly told, the deliberate lies that President Hosni Mubarak blatantly told, the deliberate lies that the first Bush Administration blatantly told and the deliberate illegal activities that Prime Minister Netanyahu consistently engaged in against the Palestinians, were directly linked to the lymphoma that took the life of the King, that this does not mean that his murder was deliberate. However, my contention is this.Though our world constantly attempts to minimize the responsibility for evil, ALLAH/GOD will not honor this minimization process at our Last Judgment. Since there can be no argument that all of these deliberate lies by all of these supposedly responsible leaders directly led to the cruel deaths or murders of thousands of innocent victims, the following reality must also be acknowledged. Since those selfish, calloused leaders intended to deliberately murder other innocent victims of the wars they chose to initiate, and did not intend to murder the King, since their intentions to murder the other victims were deliberate, they also deliberately murdered the King even if their intentions to murder him were not deliberate.Any one who disagrees with this reasoning is welcome to debate with ALLAH/GOD about how much responsibility these men had for the slow murder of this peacemaking King Objection Two Some may question why I included “Muslim” in the title of the paper and may suggest that the word Muslim should not have been included in the title; they may say that this is an unnecessary interjection of the irrelevant issue of religion into this subject. I seriously disagree with this objection. Though I originally included the fact that the King was a Muslim in order to bring an awareness of additional shame on certain of the murderers for murdering a brother Muslim, I then became aware of an exceptionally relevant and significant reality.Though the fact that King Hussein was a sincere Muslim may not have had anything to do with the choice of the first Bush Administration to be involved in his deliberate murder, there is a significant way that his being a Muslim probably directly related to that Administration’s inexcusable murder. Iraq, the perpetrator of the invasion, and Kuwait, the Arab nation that was used for the live bait for the invasion in order to give the U. S. an excuse to try to destroy Saddam Hussein and his nation’s infrastructure, were both Muslim nations though Iraq does have a sizable Christian population. But the harsh reality is this. A strong case can be made that if Iraq and Kuwait had been Eastern European nations which were composed of predominantly white Christians instead of slightly darker Arab Muslims, it would have been much more likely that the U. S. Administration would not have used the oil rich nation of Christian Kuwait to be the bait to give an excuse for the U. S. war with Christian Iraq. Thus, the second Bush Administration would not have used the mystical weapons of mass destruction excuse for the present war with Iraq, had Iraq been Christian and not Muslim.(This point becomes even more significant when it is realized that contempt for Islam is one of the major pillars of the Neoconservatives approach to foreign policy.)Or if King Hussein had been a Jewish Prime Minister of Jordan rather than an Arab Muslim King of Jordan, it is quite likely that the first Bush Administration would not have humiliated him by treating him like he was a confused, hopping bunny rabbit/arnib.By them secretly wanting Iraq to invade Kuwait and wanting the war to occur and keeping this secret from him, they were cruelly manipulating the man for peace, King Hussein. The deceitful Bush Administration had him futily hopping back and forth from Amman to Baghdad , while he was falsely thinking that he had them as trustworthy partners and that he was their point man in being a useful peacemaker. (Shame on the U. S. Administration!) Instead of being trustworthy, the first Bush Administration was mocking him when they set him up to be demonized by his Muslim brother, Hosni Mubarek and leaders of other nations who were falsely led to believe that this King was secretly cooperating with the plans of Saddam Hussein. So it was quite logical for him to be frustrated and stressed out with the kind of heavy-duty stress that would finally culminate in his lethal lymphoma. He took peace-making failure personally. He just did not realize the extent of his competition from the hungry U. S. military-Industrial-Complex Monster that is continually crouching at the door of peace making efforts, begging for victims to kill and eat. As a crowning insult it was the U. S. leaders who had set him up to be demonized by the amoral, prevaricating atheist Hosni Mubarak, when he spread the vicious lie that King Hussein had conspired with Iraq and shared with Iraq selfish plans for an occupied Kuwait. This lie was as great an insult as a peacemaker could experience. Objection Three There are those who would say that it is irresponsible conjecture to suggest a link between the onslaught of the King’s lethal lymphoma with the horrible stress brought about by the lies and the internationally publicized vicious personal attacks on his character. Though there are many reputable medical authorities that suggest a definite link between exceptional stress and lymphoma, let us assume that there was absolutely no connection between the King’s premature death brought about by lymphoma and the horrible stress to which he was purposely and viciously subjected. If we absolutely assume no connection, then the emphasis is now only on the thousands of other deaths and other needless suffering that the blatant lies, which led to this first needless Gulf war have caused. To ALLAH, each of these preventable deaths of those other innocent victims are just as significant as the death of a peacemaking King. o, those who incessantly lied in order to accomplish their own selfish geo-political purposes should tremble in their bed at night just as much as a young King who later betrayed a sacred promise he made to his dying father. back to "Pre-2005 Middle East Observations" page __________________________________________________________ _________________________________________ __________________________ _____________ |
