The Korean War Massacre

Another Covered Up Massacre

I will not go into this Korean massacre in the detail in which I discussed the Vietnam Massacre, Nevertheless, the very fact that the November 3 US news and World Report dedicated eight full pages and included eight photos about a massacre of North Korean Prisoners of war (POW's) in February 1951 in downtown Seoul Korea, is an indication of this tragic massacre's major significance to a Holy God who pursues men and nations who do not hate bloodshed.

Marine Squad leader, Carl Lamb, now 74, stumbled on to the stacked rows of naked, slaughtered bodies in the basement of a Seoul Hotel shortly after they had been murdered by one or more American Marines. But though he has pursued answers to why and how it happened, no answers have come and he is still searching for answers. When Lambs is asked why he has persisted so long in his investigation, he has a beautiful answer and his answer reveals that he was one Marine who did not lose his integrity, despite being involved in a bloody war. His tenacity over time, in my mind, reflects God's view of the shedding of innocent blood. That is, that years or centuries do not diminish the awful crime of the shedding of innocent blood, and that Allah always remembers.

Lamb said: "Right is right, and wrong is wrong. The Marine Corps hymn says first to fight for right and freedom and to keep our honor clean." "How are you going to keep your honor clean," he asks "if you bury such a horrible thing?"

I bring this second massacre by the US military up because I get so tired of the unabashed hypocrisy of the US Administration and Fox news network implying that the American military always takes the moral high ground and America's enemies are the ones who always take the low ground.

President Bush must recognize that war must be a very, very last alternative because war is not just a "bring em on" situation. War is horrible! War is ugly! War brings out the very worst in people! War sheds innocent blood. War is not as simple as Bush's simplistic proclamation.

"F**K Saddam! We're taking him out!" 1

Such a simplistic thinker should be removed from influence over any one!!!

"Since you did not hate bloodshed, blood shed will pursue you." 2

Unnecessary blood shed leaves a dirty, dirty mark on the nation which pursues such a policy and on the policy makers themselves. Therefore, both the nation and the persons responsible for such policies will hear from Allah. They will be forced by His justice to experience dreadful consequences for their trivializing bloodshed and for their refusing to hate bloodshed.
