The Parable of “The Children and the Lying President”

The following is a parable based on the information that was provided by a Christian who comes across to me as a person who chooses his words carefully and speaks with strong integrity and who has a very sensitive conscious. I quickly acknowledge, that from the T. V. exposure and reading contact that I have had with President Bush, and Vice President Cheney, they have each come across as having very little integrity, especially compared to that of David Kuo.

For Mr. Kuo’s statements that provided the background for this parable, please see Time Magazine, Oct. 23, 06, Page 66. If this man’s account is not reliable, which I am convinced that it is, then my parable is not reliable. However, after observing a Nov. 3, CNN interview with Mr. Kuo regarding a prominent evangelical pastor who has been accused of very serious allegations, the graciousness with which Mr. Kuo addressed the questions, once again he came across as a person with tremendous compassion and integrity.

Basically Mr. Kuo exposed the President for making a promise to Muslims, Jews and Christians that his Administration would provide a new eight (8) billion dollars for faith based initiatives to especially be used for programs to aid the poor. Then he blatantly lied to a group of Christian pastors about that new money being available when it definitely was not available and probably would not be available in the future.

The small children looked into the eyes of the person Dick Cheney’s Fox News recently called “The Most Powerful Man on the Planet.” Then they innocently began to chant:

Liar! Liar! Your pants are on fire! Liar! Liar! Your pants are on fire! Liar! Liar! Your pants are…

Quickly their older brothers and sisters become slightly embarrassed at their directness and soon quieted them. But one of the older brothers quoted to the shocked President a penetrating verse from the Injeel’s John 1:5.

“And the LIGHT shines in the Darkness and the Darkness shall not overcome the LIGHT. Spontaneously, a very wise Muslim teen-ager standing nearby decided to also quote parts of a profound verse from the Holy Quran. She realized that this particular verse is also a penetrating commentary on ALLAH’s LIGHT illuminating darkness. Thus, all mankind and especially leaders will definitely know that they cannot get away without ALLAH knowing what they have even secretly done and that He will hold them accountable.

“ALLAH is the LIGHT of the Heavens and the Earth… ALLAH does set forth Parables for men: And ALLAH does know all things.” An Nur 24:35

But what was this President’s reply to these ominous warnings from children and from the Scriptures of two of the three great Monotheistic religions?

“I am going to stay the course no matter what even GOD thinks! Because it is only Henry Kissinger, my wife Laura and my dog who have the true perspective to understand that I am virtually always right. So if ALLAH could only understand my perspective, then He would realize that I almost never make a mistake.”
