Al-Quran’s Bizarre Flying Messiah Myth

Things appear to be going along quite well these days for all M.E. Arab Islam. So why would Muslims give any attention to ALLAH’s born in Bethlehem Messiah since they already have their own Messiah resting somewhere in the sky. Although, to the authoritative teaching of the Holy Quran itself, there can be little doubt that the flying Messiah, who creative Muslim mythmakers insist is authentic, is only a slick imposter.

Therefore, we will examine the very important reason why the Prophet Muhammad himself (Peace be upon him) allowed Muslim leaders to not understand the true intended meaning of 4:157 and 158, that these two verses do confirm both the temporary death and later the being raised up alive by ALLAH of His Risen Messiah. And so without that deeper understanding which the Prophet possessed about the partly hidden meaning of these two verses in relationship to other relevant verses in the Holy Quran, well meaning Muslim leaders felt compelled to act on their own to invent a bizarre, ludicrous myth that has been continually repeated and believed until this very day. And this amazing myth continues to support their incorrect understanding of 4:157 and 158, that the Messiah was not crucified.

Therefore, since he allegedly did not die by a Roman execution, that can only mean that Isa still remaines alive in his physical body. Thus, according to An-Nisa 4:158, it was in that physical body that ALLAH raised him to Himself. So if the words “raised to Himself” do not reflect the fact that he had indeed physically died so that he had been raised alive from death thus having a spiritual body, it has to mean that ALLAH secretly empowered his physical body to make a long hidden journey through the sky to apparently a heavenly destination. So it is in that unidentified location that the Messiah’s physical body even now continues to live as ALLAH’s raised alive Messiah.

Presumably, it is in that location that he is even now remaining, until according to the man created myth, he will return to our now nuclear proliferated earth at an unknown time in the last days. At that unknown future time his living physical body will again experience a rapid trip through the sky to earth, presumably somewhere in the Jerusalem region. There, according to the myth, he will lead a struggle against those unbelievers who are in rebellion against ALLAH. Then, after apparently winning that conflict, he will finally die a natural death while he will still be in that area.

It is that coming future death and not his previous death 2000 years ago in Jerusalem, that is allegedly being referred to in the concise statement in Maryam 19:33 stating “the day I die,” instead of the day that the previous Quran confirmed Scriptures stated that he already had died. Al-Imran 3:55 also mentions that earlier death. And sometime after this prolonged myth scenario that has included a 2000-year interlude in an unknown location in the sky, he will supposedly experience a 21st Century or later death. Then, after his death, according to the Myth, he will have another short or long wait in his grave until sometime after his long awaited day of death. Then he will finally experience his long awaited being “raised alive.” That resurrection is also apparently spoken about in the concise Maryam 19:33 verse.

So the sincere Muslim must decide whether it is more reasonable that it is the myth’s “the day I shall be raised alive” that is the resurrection spoken of in the concise Maryam 19:33 verse. Or is it the 2000 year earlier straight forward “being raised alive” that the previous Quran confirmed Scriptures describe in great detail that already occurred 2000 years ago in Jerusalem. (That earlier resurrection after his death is the resurrection that so greatly upset the Jewish High Priests when they were notified that the predicted resurrection had occurred at the exact time that the Messiah had three times told his followers that it would occur, on the exact third day after his execution). Or is the 2000 year or more resurrection that has not even yet occurred, the day of his being raised alive that is being spoken of in the concise Maryam 19:33 which is confirmed in the next verse as “a statement of truth about which they will doubt?”

It is exceptionally obvious that the being “raised alive” in Maryam 19:33 is being referred to as the resurrection that had already occurred in Jerusalem when this verse was written and not in a “be raised alive” statement that is referring to a resurrection that has not even yet occurred and has already been postponed for close to 2000 years.

Are the myth makers possibly asking us to believe that the predicted resurrection for the obedient Messiah is to be delayed for 2000 years so that ALLAH can possibly be punishing his obedient servant by requiring him to wait an even longer time for his resurrection reward? But that cannot be the case. Because it is ALLAH’s character to award obedience. It is not His character to delay the resurrection of someone whom he has already kept waiting in the sky for almost 2000 years.

According to what the mythmakers are requiring the world to believe, consider what ALLAH’s obedient Messiah has already endured and will endure until the time of the mythmaker’s future delayed resurrection. Since the moment he was raised up alive in Jerusalem, he will have endured not one but two inter-planetary space travels with his physical body going and coming between earth and the heavenlies probably without the benefit of either a spaceship or even a helmet. His first trip was only his 33-year-old body enduring inter-planetary travel against the elements of nature. But in contrast, his return inter-planetary trip will be made by an almost two thousand year old human body. And this trip will be after he has endured almost two thousand years of either boring or demanding time in the sky, not knowing when he would be required to return to the Middle East to complete a very demanding task. He would be leading a challenging struggle against the unbelievers after his coming second rugged inter-planetary trip. Then, even though the Holy Quran pronounced him to be Eminent/Wajeh in both this world as well as being Eminent (Wajeh) in the world to come, he will be forced to wait to be raised to new life along with everyone else who have not begun to have endured what he has endured.

Come on! Get real! You cannot really believe that ALLAH would treat His only Messiah in such a rude fashion. You just can’t choose to believe in a still distant resurrection for ALLAH’s Messiah after what he has endured for ALLAH and for us.

Therefore, please hear oh Muslims, whether you are young and reality oriented or whether you are old and tradition oriented.

Do you not realize that it takes an extreme amount of virtually blind faith to interpret the Quran’s concise “statement of truth” as making reference to Maryam 19:33 and 34 in the unrealistic bizarre way that the myth demands that you interpret this very straight forward verse in the Quran? Can you not see that it is much more reasonable to understand this concise verse as a responsible statement of truth as the next verse states that it is. These two concise verses are a voice crying out to doubters to be understood in the practical way that agrees with the earlier Quran confirmed previous Scriptures contained in the Injeel. Please know that there is absolutely no reasonable reason to invest your precious soul and the soul of your family into the complicated scenario for the Quran’s only Messiah that the mythmakers have demanded that you sell your souls to believe. Are you intimidated by some type of severe punishment that you think you will receive from them unless you believe their wild man-made myth and not know that he already has died and been raised?

But they have no legitimate excuse to punish you since it is they themselves who are forcing you into a position of believing their unreasonable myth instead of believing the Quran’s straightforward statement. It is obviously the Quran you obey when you choose to believe that his death and resurrection have already occurred. For this is precisely what the earlier unchanged, Quran confirmed earlier Scriptures emphatically teach.

Please thoughtfully compare the ridiculousness of his living body twice flying through the sky including resting idly at his hidden heavenly destination for 2000 years compared with the peacefulness and simplicity of the Quran’s two verses in Maryam 19:33, 34. These two non-myth verses calmly declare the easily understandable truth from the Holy Quran. They concisely state that the requested peace to be upon him on the day he was born and peace upon him on the day he would die and peace on him on the day he would be raised alive have already occurred.

“Peace be upon me, the day I was born, and the day I die and the day I shall be raised alive.’ Such is Isa, son of Maryam, this is a statement of the truth about which they doubt” (or dispute).

The word “such” that begins verse 1934 simply means that that is the uncomplicated way that it was. It was as it was and that was all there was to it. He died but he was then raised up alive.

Now please contrast the foregoing simplicity of those two brief, concise verses from the Holy Quran with what my own imagination tells me that the myth makers would need to state to support their drawn out, complicated myth of the Messiah’s peace on the day of his birth, the day of his death and the day of his being raised alive.

And please remember that the Quran’s original 1933 and 1934 verses end by proclaiming that the 1933 verse is an emphatic “statement of truth” about which people are doubting or disputing which is exactly what is occurring.

The Myth Makers Honest Version of Their Perspective on An Nisa 1933, 34

“Peace be upon me the day I was born and the day that someone else died in my place and I did not die because GOD empowered my living body to fly through the sky where it will rest or labor for almost 2000 years or longer. Then my aging physical body will again experience inter-planetary travel through the sky back to the Middle East where my 2000-year-old body will lead a struggle against unbelievers in the Jerusalem region. There I will live out the remainder of my loving life. Then sometime later I will finally experience some peace on the day I finally die. Then I will wait patiently in my grave for the day I will finally be raised alive which I had been misled to believe that it would occur three days after I had three times told my disciples that my being raised alive would have occurred in Jerusalem 2000 years ago on the third day after the day of my death. But now, almost 2000 years after I expected to die, I am still stuck up here somewhere in the sky patiently waiting to come back to earth to finally die and then to finally experience that being raised alive that I had been promised 2000 years ago. But I am just being honest with you when I say that this whole drawn out process has not left me with a lot of confidence in well meaning mythmakers. But I am still thankful because it probably could have been a lot worse if I had not been promised Eminence (Wajeh) in the world to come, the world in which I am still hoping that on some future day I will finally experience a resurrection.

Thus, this is a revised statement of the truth because recalcitrant Muslim leaders doubted the earlier much more concise statement of the truth which is clearly printed in millions and millions of Qurans in Arabic and other languages available around the world.”

Oh new generation of Muslims as well as the tradition handcuffed older generation: which is more reasonable and believable? Is the original short, concise statement in Maryam 19:33 and 34 about Isa dying in peace and being raised alive in peace, seem more reasonable? Or is the mythmaker’s two thousand year account which includes his two living body space travels before his peaceful death which has not yet occurred, and his peaceful being raised alive which has not yet occurred, seem reasonable?

Why Didn’t the Prophet Correct the Myth Makers?

There can be no doubt in anyone’s mind that has read the Quran how deeply the Prophet Muhammad himself felt about the truth of ALLAH being One. There is also no doubt that the worship of families of gods practiced at the City of Mecca that existed previous to Islam resulted from a wrong belief by its citizens that he continued to fight against. So he wanted to be certain that that unacceptable belief in families of gods would never again infect Islam.

It was not only Mecca that the enemy could use as a base from which to attack Islam’s correct teaching against the threat of polytheism. Within even Christianity and especially what we now refer to as Catholic Christianity, there was a threat to the truth of ALLAH being One. For what was constantly being heard from those Christians was a continuous false proclamation about Mary being the Mother of ALLAH. But on the positive side, this was being said about a lovely woman who without question, deserved more honor than any other woman in the history of man, for she was the Virgin Mother of the Messiah.

Quite significantly, the Holy Quran appears to have recognized the honor due to her even more than the Injeel does. For the Injeel does not mention the mother of Maryam/Mary. The Quran even speaks of Mary’s mother praying for Mary while she was still in her own mother’s womb. And the Quran again mentions Mary’s mother immediately after the safe birth of Mary when she names her new baby daughter, Maryam or Mary.

Behold a woman of Imran said: ‘O Lord I do dedicate unto thee what is in my womb for thy special service!’” Al-Imran 3:35.

When she delivered, she said, ‘O my Lord; I am delivered of a female child!’” I have named her Mary and I have committed her offspring to thy protection from the evil one…’” Al-Imran 3:36.

Not only was the mother of Mary who was the grandmother of Jesus, mentioned in two verses in the Quran while the grandmother who was the mother of Mary was not even mentioned once in the entire New Testament. But the extraordinarily meaningful context in which the Holy Quran speaks of the Virgin Mary’s mother is what makes Mary's Mother’s words so special.

First, Mary’s mother offers a sincere prayer of dedication for the unborn daughter in her womb for the “special service” in which she will be involved for her Lord ALLAH. But secondly, Mary’s mother seemed to already realize that her unborn daughter’s “special service” for ALLAH would be of a nature that it would attract the attack of the “evil one.” Therefore, the wise and prayerful grandmother of Jesus is portrayed as bathing her unborn daughter in prayer both while she was still in her mother’s womb and more prayer at the very time of her emergence from her mother’s womb. And the impression from the Quran is that she would continue to cover her daughter with the anointing of precious prayer until her own very final breath.

Thus, these precious verses vividly speak of the extraordinary care that the Holy Quran reveals was provided for the very significant Mary by her own faithful, prayerful, deeply caring mother. These two special verses from the Quran revealing these precious prayers whispered from the lips of the Virgin’s godly mother must have been a source for regular meditation for the caring Prophet Muhammad on which he often reflected. He must also have reflected often on the following magnificent verses spoken by ALLAH Himself, which tenderly speak of the significant role that the virgin mother of Jesus along with her son would have as universal signs for the entire world. They would be signs, which would be recognized well beyond the borders of the Middle East that would also be for all future generations.

“And remember her who guarded her chastity: we breathed into her of our Spirit and we made her and her son a sign for all peoples.” Al-Anbiya 21:91.

So this verse powerfully reveals how special were the Virgin Mary and her son, Isa. It is not insignificant that the name Maryam/Mary was mentioned almost twice as often in the pages of the Holy Quran as the name of the Mother Mary was mentioned in the entire New Testament (34 times to 19 times).

In light of these precious verses concerning Mary, her precious mother and Mary’s special son, from which verses the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) must often have reflected upon these cherished truths, there can not be a particle of doubt about this following reality.

There was not one person in the entire world who had a greater pure and wholesome devotion to the virgin mother of the now Risen Messiah than did the faithful Prophet of Islam. The Prophet not only had this deep devotion to Mary but he had a similar devotion to her son revealed by the Quran proclaiming the two of them as “a sign for all peoples.”

So there could have been no one, even among Catholic Christians or any other group, who had a more pure devotion to the virtuous Mary and to the son she bore in her virginity. Nevertheless, despite such great appreciation and devotion to her, he knew that his first sacred responsibility was to proclaim the Oneness of ALLAH. Therefore, he was not about to abdicate that responsibility and allow any temptation toward a return to a belief in families of gods to harm the Muslim Community. So as he evaluated the three words of the honorable title that parts of the Christian Community had bestowed upon Mary as “Mother of ALLAH,” he sensed a very definite “stop sign”. There was no way that he would allow vulnerable Muslims to have too close an association with those who constantly used a term of devotion for the Virgin Mary that was very near to being a term of blasphemy; “Mother of ALLAH!” Very definitely, even though it had become obvious to the Prophet that when other verses from the Quran were appropriately considered and the earlier unchanged Scriptures were considered, there was no way that he could be satisfied with the simplistic, superficial way that the majority of the Islamic Community had decided to understand An-Nisa 4:157 and 158. Other verses in the Quran had caused him to realize their decision to repudiate the death and resurrection very questionable and appeared to contradict the Muslim Community’s decision that the Messiah had not been killed. So he had decided in his mind and heart that there was a more profound and more thoughtful way to understand the combination of 4:157, 158. So he knew that with all things considered, the more thoughtful way was that the Son of Mary had defeated both the Jews and death by being raised up by ALLAH from his tomb. So he himself was certain that that was the correct way to understand those two verses.

He knew that he had to keep in mind that it was the good for the Muslim Community, that he as their leader always had to consider. And that greater good was not to put the vulnerable Muslim community in a position of potential temptation to polytheism which would occur if the community had too close an association with those who taught that ALLAH indeed had a mother.

No matter how wonderful the truth was that the Messiah had defeated both death along with defeating the particular Jews who wanted him permanently dead, there was no way that the Prophet Muhammad at this vulnerable time was going to allow that knowledge to tempt the Muslim community toward polytheism. No matter if the Holy Quran itself had mentioned Maryam/Mary much more often than the entire New Testament does. (Actually 34 times in the Holy Quran is Mary mentioned while only 19 times in the entire New Testament.) And no matter that the mother of Yahya/John the Baptist had greeted the newly pregnant Mary with the enthusiastic greeting:

“But why is this granted to me that the Mother of my Lord should come to me?” (Luke 1:43) (Because Elizabeth, the mother of Yahya called Mary, “Mother of my Lord,” this was much, much different than Elizabeth, the mother of Yahya calling her the “Mother of ALLAH,” or “Mother of God,”)

And no matter that the grandmother of the Messiah who was the mother of Mary is spoken of in the Quran as praying for her daughter Mary while she was still in her own womb. And no matter that Mary’s Godly mother was not even once mentioned in the entire New Testament but was twice mentioned in the Holy Quran. And no matter that Mary is the only pure virgin in all of history to bear a child. Despite all of these unique facts about Mary and the Prophet’s own wholesome devotion to the Virgin mother, the Prophet knew that he must maintain an important boundary. Mary, even though she was the Virgin mother of the baby who grew up to have the Holy Quran call him Messiah eleven times, Mary was definitely not the “Mother of ALLAH.”

Despite the fact that the larger Muslim community was so overwhelmed and intimidated by the strong, apparently unyielding wording of 4:157 that the Messiah had neither been killed or crucified, the Prophet would for the foreseeable future not attempt to help them understand that the Messiah actually did temporarily die and then was raised alive by ALLAH. So the more complex meaning of this profound verse would remain for most Muslims temporarily hidden. Yes, so he considered it appropriate to at this specific time not try to guide them to reconcile their limited, superficial understanding of this profound verse with the teaching of either the earlier Scriptures or with the apparent contradictory Scriptures in their own Quran.

Yes! It was definite that his first call and sacred responsibility was to proclaim the sacred Oneness of ALLAH. Consequently, there was no way he would permit an out of control devotion to the Virgin Mother by the Catholics to in any conceivable way tempt the new vulnerable Islamic community to become pulled into Mary worship. For false Mary worship could side track the Muslim Community from a totally pure devotion to ALLAH as One?

So the term “Mother of ALLAH" or in Arabic, Um ALLAH, despite how well intentioned this term of honor was when spoken by Catholic Christians and others, this near blasphemous term continually switched on a bright stop light to the Prophet’s sensitive mind. Yes, this was even though the Prophet knew in his heart that An-Nisa 4:157 when appropriately combined with 4:158 and properly respecting the authority and teaching of other relevant verses in the Quran were verses whose teaching the Prophet was convinced that ALLAH expected him as a leader to also seriously consider their intended meaning. Thus, when making his final determination on what 4:157 and 158 were actually teaching, the Quran’s other verses that he considered to be particularly relevant were:

Al-Imran 3:3 and Al-Ma’idah 5:48 and Yunis 10:94 which definitely make the earlier Scriptures the final confirming decider on any questionable Quranic verses that required deeper consideration.

Al-Baqarah 2:75, the verse that contains the verb Muharif (corruption or change) that is used by Muslims to support the false concept that the previous Scriptures have been changed. However, despite what millions of Muslims claim this verse means, it does not at all come close to suggesting that the previous Scriptures, which authoritatively teach the death of the Messiah and later his being raised up alive, have been changed. (I personally call this destructive myth about the Scriptures being changed as the myth of the Muharif Chango-Chango Principle.)

Al Imran 3:55 - A very clear and authoritative verse about Jesus both being caused to die and being raised to ALLAH. But this verse must be read in the original Arabic and not in the English translation since the death deniers have twisted the translation so that the English readers do not recognize that the verse is speaking of Jesus’ death.

Maryam 19:33 - A statement about the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus. However, Muslims use a similar verse about Yahya (John the Baptist) to say that this verse cannot be used to confirm the death of Jesus due to their being a similar verse about Yahya. However, the opposite is true because the Yahya/John the Baptist verse definitely teaches that Yahya died and so did Jesus definitely die as both of the similar Quranic verses state.

So the long and short of what the Prophet Muhammad appeared to conclude is this. With their being such a vast reservoir of authoritative teaching in the earlier Scriptures about the Messiah’s defeating both death and his also defeating Jews and being raised by ALLAH, there is simply no way that this wise Prophet would let only one obviously profound and complex verse, which was solely understood on the basis of its wording, be the final determining factor out of all the other verses in the Quran without considering the relevance of these other verses to reach his conclusion. So if not before considering the other verses, then most certainly after considering the other verses in both the Quran and in the previous Scriptures, he viewed 4:157 with a more profound perspective than other Muslims. Nevertheless, he did not want these Muslims in too close an association with Christians who bought into the false teaching of ALLAH having a mother. So this was not a risk that he came close to thinking was a good risk. So he would not proclaim the truth of the Messiah’s victory over death and victory over the Jews at that vulnerable time. That would not be exercising wise leadership.

The wise Prophet knew that this vulnerable time was not the time for the Muslims to share with the local Christians the common belief in the great triumph of the Messiah’s defeat of death and also his defeat of the Jews’ wicked plan to end his life forever. And this remained true even though both of his glorious victories were sealed when ALLAH used His own Wisdom and Might to raise His Messiah up alive. (An Nisa 4:158). But the Prophet knew both in his mind and his heart that if these victories came to be known by the Muslim Community too soon and prematurely, that could mean trouble ahead for the vulnerable community. Because, if the Muslims during their vulnerable time were to openly share together that common bond of their Mutual Messiah’s twin victories, that would bring them together in too personal an association. So a new phenomenon would occur which had the potential to be damaging for the vulnerable Muslim community because the new Muslims were not ready for it. If they were to know at that time about the death and resurrection of the Messiah, it would obviously bring about a new closer association with the local Christians. Then, through that closer association Muslims would consistently hear over and over; "Mother of ALLAH", or in Arabic, “Um ALLAH,“ “Mother of ALLAH,” Um ALLAH. And when that constantly occurred, they soon would be believing something false that was quite close to Polytheism.

So the wise Prophet made a difficult decision but a decision that in his own heart and mind was definitely the right decision. He was quite aware that the larger Muslim community had been overly influenced by the verb shubbiha. And the Prophet also realized that it certainly did appear to the Jews (shubbiiha lahum) that they had permanently ended the life of the Son of Maryam. But he knew that they indeed had not killed or crucified him in terms of what killed and crucified really mean; ending life forever, because ALLAH had taken him up alive. (An Nisa 4:158.)

But while the Prophet himself was pleased with the Justice aspects of declaring the Jews guilty of the Messiah’s murder, he had a much more important theological issue to deal with about how the Christian community openly proclaiming that ALLAH had a mother would so negatively impact Muslims. So the Prophet felt compelled to demonstrate both wisdom and leadership in pleasing ALLAH by protecting the Islamic community. He would not risk opening any door to potential polytheism, even if the doors of the death and resurrection were valuable doors. But if those doors might expose his precious people and ALLAH’s precious people, to a potential false teaching about the Oneness of ALLAH and the possible existence of families of gods, it was not worth the risk. And for Muslims at that point in their vulnerability to have too close an association with the edge of Polytheism, could be disastrous for the young Muslim Community.

Significantly, most of the other Muslims had taken the verse to mean exactly what the strong words said, not allowing for any metaphors or figurative language or nuances. So they were convinced that the Messiah was definitely not killed or crucified. They simply did not have the questioning mentality to explore for any deeper meaning. Therefore, they were left without the answers to a couple of problems that they felt compelled to invent the answers for. And in answering these questions raised by no crucifixion, the mythmakers created the answers for their own questions.

For instance, if the Messiah was not crucified, who was crucified? And if as the next verse states, that ALLAH raised him up unto Himself, where does that mean that he went since Islamic theology teaches that ALLAH is everywhere? So does that mean that the Messiah is everywhere since he is with ALLAH who is everywhere? So the professional mythmakers made their myths by guessing and conjecture. But once their myths were made, they then figuratively were carved in stone so that everyone would believe that they were actually based on facts, which they were not. Rather, they were wild guesses as to who supposedly took his place on the cross and precisely where he went and when he will return.

Since the key term in the profound verse was the sort of double meaning verb shubbiiha, that is the term along with its preposition and pronoun la hum, unto them, the Jews. It basically means appear which can be used a couple of different ways. So the whole phrase, “shubbiiha lahum” basically means, “it appeared so unto them.”

So there is quite a simple way that I have chosen to understand shubbiiha la hum that makes it make sense. And to me making it make sense is to have it agree with other verses in the Quran and to agree with what the previous Scriptures teach that the Quran states that it confirms. So that means that it appeared so unto them means that he appeared to be dead from being crucified, but he actually wasn’t technically crucified because ALLAH raised him up alive. So the appearance to the Jews of him being dead forever was only conjecture.

Yes, it appeared to the Jews that they had forever ended the life of the Messiah by publicly crucifying him. But since the purpose of an execution is to totally end life, in that pure sense of what killed or crucified actually mean, he was indeed not killed or crucified because three days later he was appearing to others as a living, breathing, caring, thinking, talking man. And he continued to show himself alive in the local area for a period of forty days. So, though it had appeared to the Jews (shubbiiha la hum) that by crucifying him, that they had ended his life forever, in a very practical since they had neither killed nor crucified him because ALLAH had raised him up from the tomb to again walk among them alive. So it was truly only conjecture that they had truly killed him because truly killed persons are not three days later walking around alive and frying his fisherman friends a fish breakfast. So he had truly not been killed or crucified though historically the Jews definitely had murdered him. But when ALLAH is involved things are not simple and cut and dried. So our minds have trouble understanding His ways. But most of us can’t understand electricity or radio waves, so why does it seem so odd that we have difficulty understanding God’s ways of a person being crucified but simultaneously, in a spiritual sense, not being crucified?

So the foregoing explanation of shubbiiha la hum requires no elaborate myth of a virtual CIA type identity switch. Nor does this explanation require a one way sudden fly through the sky to an unknown destination for an undetermined length of stay. Also, on the positive side, this much simpler explanation of shubbiiha la hum, it appeared so unto them, this explanation is fully compatible with other key verses in the Quran and with each of four different eye witness accounts in the earlier Scriptures which the Quran states that the Quran confirms.

We will now look at the other way of understanding the verb shubbiiha. With its basic meaning of appear, it can be applied to a person or thing taking on a different appearance. So in the situation of assuming that you are obligated to look at the words not killed or not crucified in the most rigid, superficial way that you possibly can, then you must invent some Carl Rove/Dick Cheney type of spin to put someone else on the cross being crucified since ALLAH supposedly helped His Messiah fly, fly away in the sky at the last possible moment. But the fly away necessity is mainly because of the strong words not killed and not crucified which show the kind of ridiculous rigid mentality that the following short story vividly demonstrates.

The Nearly Dead Boy

Suddenly a terrified mother calls for an ambulance to come and get her ten year old son to rush him to the hospital. She knew he was dying because he told her that he was dying. And this boy in his whole life has never lied to his mother.

He had rushed into the kitchen where his mother was cooking and he excitedly said:

Mom quick! (Please gives me some water because I am dying of thirst.

Immediately, the hysterical mother called the ambulance to come as fast as it could because she knew her son was dying because he said he was dying of thirst. But the confused boy kept repeating to his screaming mother, “Mom all I said was I wanted a drink of water." The confused boy was not even aware that he had terrified his mother by mentioning the trigger word dying. But even the mention of the trigger word dying, sent the mother into psychological hysteria so that she suddenly lost the ability to think reasonably.

But because the mother did not know any other way to interpret the word dying but to think that in a very short time the boy would be dead if he did not receive immediate medical attention. This false understanding by her was entirely based on the mother’s total lack of ability to avoid becoming irrational because of the strong word dying being used.

Similarly, many Muslims when viewing An Nisa 4:157 push aside their ability to logically think the matter through once they have the strong emotional reaction to the strong, apparently dogmatic words of not killed and not crucified.

So in an irrational context such as the Messiah not killed myth, persons will actually assume that a rational and intelligent ALLAH became complicit in an irrational and unintelligent plan to pull off a clever CIA style identity switch with the Messiah. So in their explanation of shubbiiha lahum “it appeared so unto them,” they invent a myth that the appearance of the Messiah was projected on the traitor Judas or on someone else while the true Messiah rocketed off into the sky without a rocket. So the professional mythmakers expect us to actually believe that even though all of the witnesses to the trial and crucifixion were each quite familiar with exactly what the Messiah looked like, they all got totally fooled. No one recognized that it was another person and was not the Messiah whom they knew personally, who was being openly suspended on the cross for all those long hours. Despite these obvious contradictions, all Muslims and everyone else is being asked to believe that either ALLAH or some other mysterious power took the appearance of the Messiah and put it on the other person without anyone recognizing the switch that had occurred. (Some say the other person was Judas.) Yet, no person who knew both his appearance quite well and also his voice, did not notice any difference when the switch was made. So a successful identity switch and a successful voice switch were supposedly made without one close observer noticing a difference. So we are asked to not have any skepticism that a successful identity switch and successful voice switch had been accomplished without even his family, his close friends and his close acquaintances even noticing.

Come on leaders of Islam! Get real! You cannot expect Islam to receive the respect it deserves when leaders of Islam continue to demand that every last Muslim throughout the entire Muslim world remain intellectually and emotionally loyal to such a ridiculous and unbelievable myth. Furthermore, with the Israelis being extremely upset with U.S. President Barack Obama for slowing down their Build-the-State-of-Israel Express Train, the chances that their state of Israel is planning to assassinate the young Afro-American, Muslim heritage U.S. President, are very, very high. And yet the entire leadership of Israel is aware that Muslim leaders are so intimidated by both Israel and by the virtual idol of Islamic tradition, that Islam is in a hold pattern of excusing Israel of an historic public murder of Israel’s own now Risen Messiah. So Muslim leaders reluctance to hold Israelis feet to the fire for a vicious pre-meditated public murder exposes Muslim leaders as being excessively directionless, immature, easily intimidated, arbitrary and weak.

But you now remind me. Why, Tom, did the Prophet Muhammad himself allow such a ridiculous, obscure myth to take root when he himself knew the truth about the Messiah’s death and resurrection? We have already answered that question by saying that he was deeply convinced that he was protecting the vulnerable Islamic community from potential polytheism. This would only be until the time of the community becoming stronger and being able to handle the death and resurrection truth. So for Islam at that time about fourteen hundred years ago, to have such a bizarre myth take root before radio and a free press was not a big deal. In addition, at that time Islam needed a cover story to protect the community from potential polytheism. But that time is long past and for Muslim leaders to still be engaged in the same immature monkey business of still denying the Messiah’s death and resurrection is both shameful, inexcusable and a joke.

So this ridiculous myth was creatively invented to exploit the potential double meaning of the shubbiiha (it appeared) verb. So what finally happened to the only man to ever have command over nature so that he gave sight to those born blind, healed the sick, raised the dead, stilled the storm, showed a special compassion for exploited women, and exposed the Israeli religious leaders as professional and calloused hypocrites? Yes, what do Muslim professional myth makers say has happened to this extremely empowered, obedient Messiah? No matter what you say about the teaching of the Quran, whether he both died and then rose or whether he just was a fly away onto the sky Messiah when ALLAH raised him up, he is still alive somewhere. Because both the Quran and Muslim leaders still teach that he is still alive. But why don’t praying Muslim leaders pray and pray that he will return to this earth to help Muslims against Israel in whatever way that ALLAH might empower His obedient servant to do so? But these prayers will probably not be offered. It seems like Muslim leaders are very territorial and they are much more contented if GOD’s Risen Messiah is hidden somewhere in the far off sky without any one thinking about what he is not doing to help here on earth. This is sort of like he is in cold storage because the leaders do not want him interfering in their territory. So they stay in love with the present status quo, even though the status quo is helping ALLAH’s precious Muslims triple zero. But the sad part is that the Muslim status quo is truly helping the Israelis not have to deal with the Risen Messiah aiding the Palestinians.

But it is no magical myth that ALLAH’s Messiah did defeat death and did defeat the Jewish apparatus by ALLAH’s Wisdom, by His Might and by His empowerment. And right this moment he is patiently and lovingly waiting for the gates and hearts of Islam to invite him to enter. For he is just a whisper away. And I will give you a personal guarantee that he is not stored away in some Siberian deep-freeze a way off in the sky. Rather, he is next to you right now wondering why you don’t invite him into your kitchen to fry you and your family some fish (Please see Revelation 3:20 and John 21:5-13). And you could also ask him to put into the hot oil deep-fry a big bad bowl of Israeli Injustice.

Ingredients of the Man-Made Myth of Flying Messiah

1. Islam needed to maintain maximum distance from especially Catholic Christians because of their false teaching that ALLAH has a mother.

2. One verse out of all the verses in the Quran, when interpreted in a rigid, literal, unthoughtful way, makes it appear that the First Century Jews did not kill or crucify ALLAH’s Messiah so that he remained alive.

3. The Arabic verb Shubbiiha used in this verse has two shades of meaning. The meaning that Muslim mythmakers concentrated on was that a person could appear to be a different person, so that there was a different person on the cross instead of Isa/Jesus.

4. The meaning of Shubbiiha that my writing focuses upon is that an event can appear to onlookers as having a certain thing happen, when what appeared to happen is not what actually occurred. For instance, it appeared to the Jews that they had forever ended the Messiah’s life. But since ALLAH took him up alive as the next verse indicates, the appearance of what they thought they had accomplished which was permanently killing him, though it appeared to have happened, had not happen. Because a truly killed and truly crucified person is not three day’s later seen alive and even being on the beach frying fish for his fisherman friends.

5. Due to the Prophet Muhammad wanting to maintain maximum distance from those who still believe that ALLAH has a mother but also belive that the Messiah died and rose, he felt that in his time it was best for the vulnerable young Muslim Community to not yet understand the deeper meaning of this profound verse. That was true even though when its meaning was understood beyond a shallow superficial level that the verse was actually intended to confirm that the Messiah did actually defeat the Jews by temporarily dying. But he did not permanently die because the next verse confirms that ALLAH had raised him up unto Himself alive. But since it was not yet the proper time for the vulnerable Muslim Community that needed to be protected, to understand this central doctrine of the near polytheistic Christian community, he did not oppose the manufactured myth of his Muslim brothers who had temporarily transformed themselves into mythmakers in order to use one of the two meanings of the Arabic verb shubbiiha to explain what happened to the Messiah since they thought that it was literal, that he had not been killed or crucified.

6. The mythmakers only used the first shade of meaning of the Arabic verb shubbiiha and invented an incredible and improbable CIA type of identity switch to put another person on the cross instead of Isa while ALLAH raised His Messiah up alive supposedly without experiencing any death and is still alive with his body empowered to fly through space in to the heavenlies for a temporary stay that has turned into staying almost 2000 years.

7. The identity switch was so professional and successful that none of his close friends and family including his mother, who stood quite near the cross and heard his voice recognized any voice change or identity change. Nor did the two who knew him well and who prepared the deceased body for burial with spices, notice that it was not him whose dead body they were personally preparing for burial which required much handling of his body.

8. According to the sincere mythmakers, the now nearly 2000 year old still alive body of the Messiah that has remained in space for those 20 centuries will some day be required to make a rugged return trip through space to return to earth to fight against infidels.

9. Then, even though the Messiah had three times stated (documented in Mark 8, 9, and 10) that he would be killed in Jerusalem in a few days after these conversations and said that he would be raised to new life three days after being killed, he received disappointing news apparently while living above. He found out that after defeating the infidels that he would need to also wait around to die. So that what he had told his followers in good faith about both dying and then rising after three days, could not have been more incorrect. Because according to their myth, even after spending almost 2000 years in outer space waiting, then his 2000 year old still living body, would endure another inter-planetary trip back to the Jerusalem area to work extremely hard to defeat infidels. But even then he would still need to wait around to die. Then, very patiently he would be required to endure another possibly long wait to be raised up alive. It would only be after all of these other events that he would finally assume the responsibilities that it would be appropriate for the Quran’s eminent (wajeh) person to have in the “next” world.

So please make your choice. Is your choice to believe that ALLAH raised him up alive and that he is still stuck somewhere in the sky waiting for events once again to begin occurring that will each be preliminary to his finally “being raised up alive” as is clearly stated in Maryam 19:33? Or are you willing to acknowledge that the now Living Messiah is invisibly near your heart right now patiently wainting for you to spiritually invite him into your heart and into your life. And he would also love to be invited into the home of your family if they will also welcome him. His personal message to your from the very last book in the Injeel which the Holy Quran confirms are not from somewhere in the sky but from right here next to you.

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in and eat with him and he with me.” And remember that he may fix some delicious fish for breakfast for you and your family. (See Revelation 3:20 and John 21:9-14).
