Islam's Cancellation Metaphor

A metaphor is commonly defined as a figure of speech using one thing to designate another. So I thought to myself, what is an effective metaphor that can be used to designate the destructive aspects of U.S. Christianity under the eight year reign of George W. Bush and Bush's own equivalent of the destructive Sarah Palin which is Dick Cheney. Since it obviously has been the innocent Iraqis who have been most victimized by the Christian, Bush-Cheney disciples, two main metaphors immediately leaped to my mind; the metaphors of militarism and blood.

The Metaphor Related Lecture

Last night I attended a depressing but passionate lecture at the nearby University of Washington given by an internationally respected public health physician. This exceptionally capable and sincere man had completed considerable thorough research on the most accurate numbers of civilian deaths that were determined to have been caused by the U.S.' arrogant and calloused illegal invasion and immoral occupation of Iraq.

As a scholar, he did not use the moralistic, emotionally laden trigger words that I have just used. Nevertheless, you could tell by listening to this highly professional doctor that he was deeply pained and even enraged at the needless suffering and unnecessary bloodshed that the U.S. has callously showered on the several hundred thousand innocent civilian victims in Iraq.

I am purposely not mentioning the name of this highly dedicated and compassionate Doctor because given the nature of my writing style I don't think it would be fair to associate his name with my web site and potentially add to the harassment that he has already undoubtedly received. For it is a reality that the Bush Administration has what I will characterize as P.P.P. or Press Purification Police whose task it is to sanitize things like death and dismemberment figures for the media. This is in order to minimize the figures to help the U.S. to look less horrible regarding their own virtual terrorism as they struggle to supposedly eliminate terrorism in Iraq, a nation where there were no foreign terrorists before we arrived. The only terrorism which was then occurring in Iraq was carried out against its own people by the violent Saddam Hussein regime.

At one point early in the lecture the Doctor requested that a three or four minute actual film clip be shown of a news conference where the U.S. President was being questioned by a reporter who expressed her sincere concern about the huge difference in the number of deaths to civilian Iraqis reported by the U.S. military and the much higher number reported by the physicians' research group. When the President did not directly answer her question about whether he agreed with the 30,000 figure or the 150,000 figure he hurried on to another question. The visibly nervous and uncomfortable President was obviously quite eager to avoid this no win topic. But to the reporter's credit and to his great frustration, she refused to leave her question unanswered even though he was the “decider” and she was only a reporter hoping to hear the truth.

He finally reluctantly stated words to the affect that the civilian deaths were certainly no more than 30,000 but he insisted that the study group used methods which inflated the figures. Then he quite awkwardly attempted to express his appreciation to the people of Iraq for being “so tolerant” of the high number of civilian deaths due to their great desire for freedom that we were bringing to their nation. The people in the audience let out a collective gasp that he would dare to attribute such tolerance and implied acceptance about the U.S. killing so many Iraqis.

After the film clip the Doctor clarified that though the American public had been led to believe that the high death toll for civilians was mainly due to events such as road side bombs, it was much more likely that the majority of civilian deaths were from planned American bombing missions.

Toward the completion of the lecture the Doctor discussed the more recent death to civilian figures that he considered to be quite reliable and were from a variety of what different study groups had arrived at. And the high figure seemed to be supported by the evidence. Significantly, the figure was at least 650,000 civilians killed. But I personally noted that his figures, though horribly high and immoral, did not even begin to include those innocent victimized Iraqis who have been permanently maimed and disfigured and who have permanently lost their homes and for the remainder of their lives will remain severely psychologically traumatized. As would be expected, the study group figures far, far exceeded the much lower U.S. military estimates.

Though the large room where we were was close to full, which I would estimate held as many as 150 people, he was troubled by how much more concern there is about the Iraqi civilian victims among Europeans (who did not start this savage war) than there is among Americans (whose democratically elected government did start this war of choice that has resulted in such a river of innocent blood being spilt.)

Blood and Militarism

And that readily observable American complacency and contemptuous disinterest especially among such a high percentage of U.S. Christians brings me to my two metaphors for the King Bush era of U.S. Christianity; militarism and blood. I have reached the reluctant conclusion that these are appropriate metaphors for this Bush era because it appears that so many Christians and others are so comfortable with our nation's emphasis on military solutions to disagreements rather than on wise diplomatic efforts to reach solutions. But why should that surprise me since so much of our national economy is based on our whopping huge military-industrial-complex that is depended upon to guarantee our extravagant life style which in turn are so dependent upon the vulnerable pipe line of Middle Eastern oil which we think we are entitled to in order to maintain our extravagant life style and that this supposedly acceptable U.S. life style immorally requires a high percentage of the limited amount of the world's rapidly shrinking supply of exhaustible resources?

So all of this “American Dream” confusion and entitlement leads me to be 100% convinced that our moral GOD who is observing our smug complacency with the rivers of blood we have caused to flow in Iraq and that He is also deeply disturbed by the blood consistently dripping from the hands of the often smiling and dancing Bush and Rove types. But perhaps quite surprisingly, I am also convinced that the God who sent into this sick and fractured world his compassionate Messiah/Physician, that He is just as disappointed and concerned with U.S. Christians and others as He is with our elected but bloody Bushes, Cheneys, Pearls, Wolfowitzes, Rumsfelds and Roves.

Why is He so disappointed with such a high percentage of self proclaimed U.S. Christians? One main reason is because so many of us voted a second term for those bloody monsters after we observed their first term rivers of blood. (To clarify the record, after prayer for wisdom, I personally had absolutely no peace to vote for these gangsters in either of the two elections, but because I am an American I too bear a definite responsibility for the rivers of innocent blood our nation has shed.)

The second major reason that I think causes GOD's major disappointment in so many U.S. Christians is this. Though it has been our own selfishness and calloused complacency that has brought the bloody carnage on the innocent victims in Iraq which our own nation has conceived and given birth to, for the most part GOD observes both Christians and others not being grieved, and pleading for His forgiveness and for forgiveness from the people of Iraq. In a wicked contrast to contrition, for the most part He observes us being only interested in ourselves and our own worries about our high gas prices etc. But emphatically, He does not observe us being deeply grieved and distressed about the terrible undeserved suffering our nation and thus ourselves have brought to the innocent Iraqi people.

Oh GOD, please shower on us your mercy and forgiveness for our deep, deep sin against not only You but also our deep sin against your precious, mostly Muslim people of Iraq.

Islam's Giant Cancellation Stamp

While I realize that the guilt of our nation is so infinitely greater and more serious than what I have so inadequately described, I now will attempt to add light to what I consider to be a Muslim cancellation stamp the size of a mountain.

In approximately one week the U.S. will vote for a replacement for George W. Bush. Senator Obama is hoping to be the new President to help us heal from the mental disease, injustice and corruption that the wicked Bush reign has brought on our nation. But in the midst of all his election pressure, Barack Obama has not for one minute forgotten the dedicated love that he received for so many years from his now deceased, lovely mother.

But neither has he forgotten the precious, sacrificial love that he has enjoyed from his very precious, grandmother. And it is strange how I have an extra appreciation of the young Senator's adoration of his grandmother because his grandmother and my adorable grandmother share the same affectionate name; “Tute.”

So being the high quality, family oriented person that Barack Obama is, he has not allowed his unique opportunity to become the U.S. President, to prevent him from maintaining the great love he has for “Tute,” who poured so much of her heart into his heart, especially after his own mother was forced by cancer to leave her lonely boy alone in this often frightening world.

Thus, what is this high quality presidential candidate now taking precious time-out to do in the most pressure packed period of his life? Instead of remaining on the frantic campaign trail fighting for every possible vote, he is flying off to the home of his dying grandmother in the isolated state of Hawaii so he can personally express his love, comfort and appreciation to her before she permanently leaves this world and will not again be able to hear his comforting, calm words.

But wait! There is at least one important Republican who disagrees with this family man's priorities. He does not seem to appreciate that the extra few hours delay caused by taking a commercial flight could make the difference in whether he comforts his living “Tute” or whether he holds the cold hand of his departed grandmother. And this harsh condemnation of spending the extra thousands of dollars to take his campaign jet in an expensive campaign where all parties have wasted many thousands of dollars on certain even silly campaign ads, seems inappropriately insensitive. But, despite this vicious, undeserved condemnation of this caring man showing such sweet love to his precious grandmother, Barack Obama correctly made one of the most significant decisions he would ever make during his forty seven years of life. For this uncaring Republican spokesperson would have advised the caring Senator to have figuratively and uncaringly stamped CANCELLED over his plans to be at the side of his dying grandmother in the fastest way possible in order to bless her as his living grandmother. But instead of callously canceling the most caring plan, Barack Obama did not gamble on what true love compelled him to do. He took the plane that would get him to Tute's side the quickest.

Yes, I truly hope this relevant human example adequately demonstrates how the abrupt, even harsh word cancelled, can have devastating long term affects when cancelled is considered the right solution when it may be the absolutely wrong solution.

Yet, I am convinced that without many otherwise outstanding leaders in Islam realizing the overarching, long range crime they, themselves are committing, with limited forethought, they have abruptly stamped cancelled where God would have had them stamp, wondrous Love. But instead, up until the present moment they have stamped cancelled on the most unselfish act of love that our Merciful ALLAH has ever ordained to occur during the violent history of man.

Yes, the innocent, compassionate Messiah courageously allowed himself to be nailed to some wood that did great good. By willingly dying on the accursed tree he forever set us free. But if we will observe ever so carefully, we will know that those Jews who manipulated their Roman Empire occupiers to nail him there, screamed out certain important words to the Roman governor, Pilate. They insisted that they wanted both themselves and their descendents to be forever enslaved to the bloody charge of the first degree murder of GOD's own innocent Messiah.

For this is what their literal words to the amoral governor were intended to convey when they screamed at the shocked Governor,

“Let his blood be on us and on our children.”

Nevertheless, despite what they screamed, his innocent blood does not need to be on the children of those Jews who are today's Jews. For these children can with deep regret and remorse confess the terrible crime which their forefathers committed against GOD's totally innocent Messiah who courageously allowed them to cruelly take his life. So these children can even now receive forgiveness for their forefathers' horrible deed.

Therefore, what is the strange metaphor which is the regrettable legacy which is owned by every Muslim today?

Instead of allowing the children of the Jews to be guilty of their forefather's beastly murder, it is the Muslims who have chosen to be guilty and to have an evil legacy for their unjust use of the “CANCELLED” stamp. This bitter cancelled stamp has been personally picked up by each and every Muslim living today and has been stamped down hard on that amazing act of love. This love was personalized when Isa the Messiah gave his own life. He courageously stood up and faced down Israeli injustice and exposed it in all its ugly naked injustice when he allowed them to murder him though he was totally innocent. But he knew that it was necessary for sin in all its ugliness to be eternally exposed. Thus, that injustice of the Israeli leaders was completely defeated when ALLAH's Might and Wisdom raised this compassionate, courageous man up alive.

By each and every Muslim refusing to acknowledge the real intent of An-Nisa 4:157 and 158, Muslims everywhere have chosen to mark CANCELLED on GOD's Wisdom and on GOD's Might of raising him up alive They also attempt to cancel the Messiah's great love demonstrated by his willingness to have his life brutally stolen form him. But is the unjust use of the large CANCELLED STAMP truly the free choice of each and every Muslim, young and old to be the chief metaphor that they want to have remembered as the legacy of the great religion of Islam?

Do sincere Muslims actually want ALLAH's Islam to be known and remembered as the religion, that though the Holy Quran's Messiah would be eminent in this world and the next, that he would actually desire to have his own glorious triumph over his brutal death CANCELLED due to the Jews treacherous murder of him also being CANCELLED. Therefore, the Jews being guilty of evilly grinding Justice into fine dust by cruelly murdering a totally innocent man was all CANCELLED by a bizarre, dubious scenario where the ALMIGHTY ALLAH Who is Himself full of integrity supposedly made a secret agreement with the courageous Messiah to have an innocent look-a-like be executed instead of the Holy Quran's Messiah being cruelly and unjustly executed.

Please realize that all of these fantastic, counter-intuitive cancellations by Islam are much more bizarre and more unreasonable than the disappearance of all the weapons of mass destruction that the Iraqi “Curve Ball” told the American CIA Director's “Slam Dunk” George Tenet who convinced the “clowns” George Bush and Dick Cheney who convinced a manipulated and lied to General Colin Powel who convinced a reluctant U.N., that Saddam Hussein had hidden weapons of mass destruction in chicken-coups and in grain silos and in mobile laboratories. The proof supposedly was that these chicken coups and empty grain silos could be seen in photographs from space which the U.S. was convinced gave the needed overwhelming evidence that the U.S. was looking for so that we could begin our assault on Iraq with surgical, pin-point air-strikes on Iraq that would bring minimal death to civilians but would allow our good nation to destroy all the bad people in the bad nation so that they would not potentially cooperate with Al-Qaeda to bring more undeserved death and destruction on the good and peace loving people of the U.S. and its headquarters in the peace-loving Pentagon so that weapons of mass destruction would not once more be used by what many Americans were convinced were the Iraqi hi-jackers of 9/11. So the deceived General Colin Powell, holding the supposed proof-positive space photographs, convinced the gullible, deceived U.N. to approve the attack on an innocent mostly Muslim people.

Yes, I am actually convinced that the just described fantastic, ridiculous scenario that brought about the horrible Iraq war is more believable than the ridiculous scenarios that unjustly excuse the Jews from their murder of GOD's Messiah. But the truth is that both scenarios are probably equally ridiculous and unbelievable.

So please oh Islam, in view of all these parallels in strangeness and in being manipulated and brainwashed to believe the bizarre and unbelievable about both a single murder and the murder of tens of thousands, please immediately cancel all your unjustified Cancellations and finally accept the true reality that ALLAH's innocent Messiah was indeed illegally and cruelly executed by criminal elements in Israel. But wonderfully, through the Wisdom and Might of ALLAH he was indeed raised up alive as an An-Nisa 4:158 in the Holy Quran so emphatically proclaims. So that by Wise Muslims showing leadership in this important and vital step of canceling the cancellation of the Messiah's death and resurrection, especially younger Middle Eastern Muslims will have a much greater opportunity to experience more Justice and not more unjust, horrible, undeserved, GOD-hated bloodshed.

So may the healing begin by courageous leaders in Islam taking leadership in enthusiastically and systematically canceling all of the before mentioned metaphoric cancellations and allow a true account of certain Israeli leaders' vicious assault on justice by corruptly murdering ALLAH's own innocent Messiah, to be finally understood correctly by all in Islam.
