The Al-Qasas/Story of the Qur'an's Own Messiah IsaThis wonderful story is entirely based on verses from the Holy Qur'an. However, there are a few exceptions where I bring in some brief narrative from the Injeel to confirm what the Qur'an is stating and not using the Qur'an to confirm what the previous Scriptures have previously said. I am personally convinced that the two Messiah's are the same Messiah before ALLAH. Also, that Islam must be proud that the Qur'an and Islam have developed their own Messiah. Therefore, Islam has no reason to be concerned about certain details about the Qur'an's Messiah differing slightly in substance from the Messiah portrayed in the Injeel/New Testament. (However, it is regrettable that many Christians will remain preoccupied with dissimilarities rather than similarities.) There will be times when I use certain brief narratives from the Injeel to elaborate on what the Qur'an is succinctly stating. This is because I firmly believe that it is fair, relevant and helpful to demonstrate how certain unfair treatment of the Messiah two thousand years ago by the Israelis sheds light and understanding on a similar Israeli leaders' mentality today. It is not insignificant that their cultural obstructionist mentality causes similar difficulties for Palestinians, Arabs, and Americans today as such oppositional attitudes caused for the Messiah during his thirty three years of living in the Jewish society of that day. Maryam's Beloved MotherThere was once a sweetly spiritual woman married to a man from the family of Al-Imran. This young woman was excited and joyful about giving birth to this tiny baby who was living in her womb. Even before she had joyfully discovered that her child was a lovely female baby, she bowed her heart and softly prayed this joyful prayer. She reverently told her beloved Lord: "Oh my Lord! I have vowed to you that the child that is in my womb only be dedicated for your service. May the child be free of all worldly work to be without worldly distraction so to serve your place of worship? O my precious ALLAH, hear this humble prayer from my own lips which are themselves dedicated only to your service. Only you know who the baby is who is now living in my womb for you are the All-Hearer and the All-Knower." Therefore, when the joyful wife of Al-Imran found that she had given birth to a female child she prayed again, although she had never ceased praying in her heart since her first sincere prayer of dedication. But this was her second prayer that found its way into the pages of the Holy Qur'an in Surah Al-Imran. "O my Lord! I have given birth to a female child and the male is not like the female. I have named her Maryam. And I seek refuge for her and for her offspring from Shaitan, the outcast." So from even before her mother, the grandmother of the Messiah knew that she would give birth to a girl, her life and even the life of her future offspring were nurtured by her mother with her loving prayer. So Maryam's caring Lord heard the sweet prayers of Maryam's mother and faithfully answered each prayer. So the Lord accepted the precious baby Maryam and nurtured her to grow in a good manner. And it seemed best to the Lord to direct Imran's wife to a place where the growing child would be under the special watchfulness of Zakariyya, who was a wise, caring man and was especially prayerful. Marvelously, every time that the watchful Zakariyya entered the private place of prayer to visit the lovely child Maryam, he found that everything she needed had been wonderfully supplied. When he asked her from where she had received her sustenance, she replied: "This is from ALLAH. Truly, ALLAH provides sustenance to whom He wills without limit." At that time Zakariyya and his wife were very aware that they were advancing in age and truly desired to have their own child. So this Godly man fully realized that believing prayer was the path chosen by ALLAH for believers to walk when they are in need of the gifts of ALLAH's grace. So Zakariyya prayed to the Lord saying: "O my Lord! Grant me from you a good offspring. You are indeed the Lord who hears all of our sincere requests." Soon after his prayer, Angels called to him while he was standing in prayer in Al-Mihrab, the private place of prayer and announced to him: "ALLAH gives you glad tiding of Yahya, who will confirm a word from ALLAH, who will be chaste, a Prophet from among the righteous." Zakariyya's reply to their good news to him was: "O my Lord! How can I have a son when I am very old and my wife has not been able to have a child?" Thus, the Angel's answer to Zakariyya's doubt was: "ALLAH does what He wills." Zakariyya replied: "O my Lord! Make a sign for me." The reply was: "Your sign is that you shall not speak to mankind for three days except with signals. And remember your Lord much in the afternoon and in the morning." We will now observe more private communication between the Lord and his servant Zakariyya as written in the important Surah named in honor of the Virgin Maryam. Zakariyya said: "My Lord! Indeed my bones have grown feeble. Grey hair has spread on my head. But I have never been un-blest in my requests to You, O my Lord!" "And truly, I fear for my relatives after me, and my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir." ALLAH said, "O Zakariyya, We give you the glad tiding of a son whose name will be John (Yahya in Arabic). We have given that name to none before." Then Zakariyya asked for the sign that was previously mentioned and was told as previously mentioned, that he would not be able to speak for three days for his doubt in requesting the sign. Then he came out to his people from Al- Mihrab. He told them by signs to glorify ALLAH's praises in the morning and in the afternoon. And when Yahya was then born, ALLAH gave to Yahya the Scriptures and Wisdom while he was yet a child. And Yahya was made by ALLAH to be sympathetic to men, pure from sins and righteous with mercies from ALLAH. And even though his parents were well advanced in years, he was never disobedient or arrogant to either parent. Continuing from the stories of Maryam's mother, of Maryam's birth, of Zakariyya's care of her and the birth and obedience of Yahya, we now come to the miraculous occasion of the birth of the Virgin Maryam's child, Isa, the Qur'an's Messiah. This is he, about whom the Prophet Yahya would announce his adult service to the people of Israel and beyond. Before Maryam was with child she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a region facing East. There she placed a screen to shield herself from her people. Then ALLAH sent to her he who was ALLAH's (Ruh) Spirit who was known as the Angel Jibrael and he appeared before Maryam in the form of a man in all respects. The Angel said to Maryam: "I am only a messenger who is announcing to you ALLAH's gift to you of a faultless son". These words of ALLAH's Angel amazed Maryam. So she asked the Angel Jibrael how she could have a son when no man had touched her nor had she been unchaste in any way. Jibrael replied: Your Lord said: "This is easy for me. And I wish to appoint him as a revelation to mankind and a mercy from us and it is a matter that ALLAH has already decreed". And according to the Angel's words, Maryam conceived in her womb the announced child. Then she withdrew with her infant within her body to a distant place for those days, the Bethlehem valley that was about four to six miles from Jerusalem. While there the pains of her childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date palm tree. And she said, "If only I had died and this had become a thing forgotten." Jibrael called unto her from below her saying, "Grieve not: your Lord has provided a water stream under you." "And shake the trunk of the date palm tree towards you and it shall let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you." "So eat and drink and be glad. And if you see any human being say: Truly, I have vowed a fast unto the Most Gracious ALLAH so I shall not speak to any human being this day." Then she brought the baby to her people, carrying him. They said: "O Maryam! Indeed you have brought a thing Fariyy or an Amazing Thing." Then they said, "O sister of Aaron! Your father was not a wicked man nor was your mother a harlot." Then she pointed to him. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?" Amazingly, He spoke saying, "Truly, I am a slave of ALLAH. He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet. And He has made me blessed whosesoever I be. He has enjoined on me prayer (Salat) and almsgiving as long as I remain alive." "And he has made me dutiful to my mother and has made me not arrogant or unblest." "And salam (peace) be upon me the day I was born and the day I die and the day I shall be raised alive!" "Such is Isa, son of Maryam, a statement of truth about which they dispute." So amazingly, even though peace was upon the son of Maryam at his birth and at his death and at his being raised alive from death by ALLAH Himself. Yes, this being raised alive is a fact to which ALLAH Himself testifies in Al-Imran 3:55. Yet, in spite of the fact of ALLAH Himself testifying to His own raising Isa to new life, the Qur'an's Messiah was still born into controversy regarding whether he was truly raised from death to life as the 19:34 verse accurately predicted. Muslims are even today still disputing the fact that he was truly raised from death to life. However, even this dispute had made a major contribution to the Qur'an's own Risen Messiah as it has become an important sign that the Messiah truly did die and was truly raised alive because the Qur'an accurately and faithfully predicated today's dispute. (See Al-Imran 3:55 that totally resolves how the two combinations of verses in the Qur'an's Maryam 19:33 and 19:34 as well as An-Nisa 5:157 and 4:158 must each be understood to totally support the Messiah's death defeating miraculous resurrection.) But it was not just against the Messiah himself and his death and resurrection about which there remained a mighty and unfair dispute. In fact, about his pure mother Maryam there was something much more personally harmful than a dispute. According to the Holy Qur'an's An-Nisa 4:156, concerning the Virgin Mother Maryam, the Qur'an tells us that the Jews uttered a "grave false charge". Though the Qur'an does not say the words, it is obvious from what the Qur'an does say that the Jews accused her of illegal sexual intercourse. So it wasn't enough that Maryam had to experience the trauma and stress of having neighbors point their accusing finger at her when she was known to be pregnant without yet having an official marriage with Yusef. But when the accusations came against her, the sensitivity and sympathy of the Holy Qur'an refused to remain silent. The Qur'an itself courageously arose to the defense of the Qur'an's Messiah's Mother. Thus, the Qur'an explicitly states: "And because of their uttering against Maryam grave false charges " and because that they had murdered the Messiah, the Qur'an was put in a position of defense of the Messiah to take away the grounds for their arrogant bragging about successfully killing him by clarifying that it only appeared to them (shubbiiha lahum) that they had successfully killed him permanently. And so the Qur'an sets them straight. Because in a real sense they had not accomplished their goal of truly killing him because ALLAH's Eternal Might and Eternal Wisdom later raised him up from death, as is joyfully proclaimed in the Qur'an's Surah An-Nisa 4:158. His Neighbors' Attempted Murder of The Qur'an's MessiahThe son of Maryam, after he had taught in a number of synagogues in the region of Galilee had a very positive reception to his teaching. And the response was also at first quite positive when he had an opportunity to publicly share at his own home Nazareth synagogue, where he had grown up in the neighborhood and where some people had possibly whispered about the circumstances of his birth. As the Qur'an has told us in An-Nisa 4:156, they had uttered against his mother Maryam, "a grave false charge." As he started speaking from the scroll of the Prophet Isaiah, it soon appeared that this was a wonderful opportunity for him to make a positive impression on his home town people and potentially erase any doubts about what some of these Nazareth people might have thought about his controversial birth situation. In fact, it appeared for a fleeting few minutes that he might have now become sort of a local hero to them because of the gracious manner in which he spoke. In fact, the Scripture writer Dr. Luke actually described in the Scriptures that he later wrote, the peoples' response to him during his synagogue talk that Sabbath day. Luke stated about the Messiah's listeners: "So all bore witness to him and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, "Is not this Yusef's son." But the very honest Messiah was not concerned about making himself accepted in his home community. So instead of erasing any doubt about the circumstances of his past birth, as alluded to in the Qur'an's 4:156, he told them two true Old Testament accounts that directly related to their own biased attitudes toward non Jews that were greatly displeasing to ALLAH. It was their foreignerfobia. His confronting them so straight forwardly about their arrogant attitudes toward persons who were not Jews, and exposing their general xenophobic attitude that ALLAH is not supposed to help non-Jews. So right at that moment that he confronted them, they virtually lost control of their tempers and mob psychology took over. The attendees of the synagogue with apparently few exceptions "were filled with wrath". So they unitedly rose up and used their superior numbers to push him out of the city of Nazareth that still exists today. Dr. Luke tells us that "they led him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw him over the cliff." But somehow the authority from ALLAH that he demonstrated took away their nerve and rage. So he passed through the midst of them without them harming him. But what were the contents of the two accounts about ALLAH's having love for foreigners in addition to His love for the Hebrew people, that so enraged an entire synagogue of Jews so that they spontaneously rose from their Synagogue seats and attempted to murder their own compassionate Messiah? I apologize for including in this account of the Qur'an's Messiah, that I am also including these observations from Dr. Luke's Biblical account of the Messiah. I consider this story only told by the Greek foreigner Dr. Luke to be a quite relevant true story of the awful prejudice against ALLAH's and the Qur'an's Messiah that he encountered during his personal time on earth among the Jewish people due to his own love and ALLAH's love for other races in addition to Jews. Dr. Luke being himself, a Greek non Jew, probably had his own share of being the victim of foreignerphobia. I feel especially obligated to tell this true account of the Messiah's unequivocal condemnation of foreignerphobia by the Jews of the Messiah's day during this current period when Islamophobia in the U.S. is so repugnant to ALLAH. So I think that this emphasis on this real life historical account from outside the Qur'an will be an appropriate exposure and condemnation of the current raging Islamophoba in the homes, in the churches, in the streets, and in the media of especially the supposedly predominantly Christian U.S. This similar hatred and distrust of foreigners was quite evident even in the days before the jealous Jewish leaders shamefully manipulated the far less racially prejudiced Roman occupiers to reluctantly agree to execute the Messiah. In fact, the Messiah had obviously observed as he was growing up in the Nazareth neighborhood many examples of extreme racial prejudice that motivated him to emphasize ALLAH's disgust for his neighbors prejudice against non-Jews that he had obviously observed. His observations quite possibly motivated him to tell these two stories in order to allow their harmful racial prejudice to surface. And it is relevant to realize that his own desire to expose this foreignerphobia almost got him murdered for confronting them about this evil attitude that they did not appreciate being publicly exposed. So, because this Injeel account so vividly portrays ALLAH's great enduring commitment to meet the needs of foreigners, it is here illustrated by His two Anointed Old Testament Prophets; Elijah and the younger Prophet that Elijah had personally trained, Elisha. Consequently, I felt compelled to include this real life example from the Enjeel of Luke. The Messiah explained to his not so tolerant and quite prejudiced listeners in the Nazareth synagogue that morning these two examples of GOD's compassion for foreigners that had occurred several Centuries before. But it was very painful for his neighbors to be reminded about these two Old Testament true examples that possibly they had never noticed in their own Scripture reading. The Messiah explained to them with these words: "I tell you truly that there were many Jewish widows in Israel in the days of ALLAH's Prophet Elijah when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months so that there was a great famine throughout the whole land" (so that there was a severe lack of food.) But to none of these Jewish people who lacked food was the Jewish Prophet Elijah sent. But this Prophet Elijah was sent to the region of Zaraphath in Sidon to a widow who was not Jewish, but who was Sidonese. Similarly, there was the same type of foreigner being helped by ALLAH instead of by Jews situation described by the Messiah concerning the Prophet Elisha, the younger trainee replacement of the Prophet Elijah. The Messiah described this second situation to the Nazareh Synagogue attenders as follows: "There were many Jewish lepers in Israel at the time of Elisha the Prophet. But ALLAH did not send his Prophet Elisha to cleanse one of the Jewish lepers." He only sent His Prophet to heal a Syrian leprous military officer named Naaman. Significantly, he pointed out that Naaman the Syrian was the only leper the Prophet Elisha healed. Writer Luke tells us that when his obviously racist Nazareth listeners heard his explanation about how it was these two foreigners instead of the Jews who the Prophets' Elijah and Elisha helped or healed they were furiously filled with wrath. And that was the precise moment that the whole Jewish audience unitedly rose up in a fit of rage to hopefully murder him by pushing him off the nearby Nazareth cliff. Yet, with ALLAH's help, he barely escaped. Returning To Our Focus On The Qur'an's Messiah From the Qur'anObviously, after becoming acquainted with the way that that Messiah was almost murdered by his own people as punishment for presenting racial truth as described by writer, Dr. Luke, we are not at all surprised that the Qur'an's Messiah is portrayed as a Prophet as well as Messiah. "He (Isa) said: Truly, I am a slave of ALLAH. He has given me the Scriptures and made me a Prophet." Qur'an, Surah Maryam 19:49. Furthermore, due to the stronger resistance to the Prophet Isa by the Jews who were even more hostile and resistant to him than were the naturally more genuinely spiritually people from whom the Arab Prophet Muhammad similarly received much resistance, the Qur'an's Prophet Messiah Isa needed to reveal signs and miracles to prove both of his anointed offices of Messiah and Prophet. The Persecuted Blind Man and Nine Unthankful Jewish LepersTherefore, the Holy Qur'an tells us in 3:49 that he healed those who were born blind. "And I heal him who was born blind." Al-Imran 3:49. In order to bring a real person to this concise announcement about the Qur'an's Messiah healing the blind, we will briefly see the serious trouble that one person who Isa healed got into with the calloused Jewish leaders who were virtually haters and rejectors of disabled persons. In an account in the Injeel's John 9 it is stated: "When Isa passed by he saw a man who had been blind from birth He anointed the eyes of the blind man with clay. And he told him to go wash in the pool of Siloam. So he went and washed and came back seeing." When the Jewish authorities heard of this amazing miracle they rudely interrogated both the man and his parents about him being miraculously healed of his blindness that he had had from his birth. His parents were absolutely terrorized by the interrogation and were afraid to give the religious authorities any information about their son's healing, because they were fearful of being put out of their home synagogue. The apostle John described his parents' refusal to comment by saying: "His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confess that the Messiah was Christ he would be put out of the synagogue." Is it insignificant that these two thousand years later that Palestinians and even other non Jews are highly intimidated when being rudely interrogated by Jewish authorities? However, now it is the Palestinians who provide the Israelis with the cover excuse for rude dehumanizing interrogation. Two thousand years ago it was ALLAH's own Messiah who provided them their excuse for dehumanizing interrogation. "And heal the leper." AL-Imran 3:49. It is not insignificant that an entitlement attitude was exhibited by Jewish lepers 2000 years ago. You would have thought that these nine Jewish lepers would have been exceptionally appreciative of being without charge, healed of the dreaded dehibilitating disease of leprosy. Does not this pervasive attitude of lack of appreciation still typify the attitude of the Israeli Lobby and Netanyahu himself, that no matter how much they are given by the U.S., they remain angry about not having received more? To illustrate this point let's take a brief look at nine (9) unthankful Jewish lepers after they had been miraculously healed by the Messiah of their highly contagious disease of leprosy. And besides the nine (9) individual lepers being totally unthankful for being healed, the government had a worse response to this compassionate Messiah-man for significantly helping the small Jewish state by healing nine (9) of its lepers. The Jewish State ungratefully expressed its deep personal appreciation to him by planning to murder him. Let's hear about this 20 centuries ago relevant leprosy encounter from the penetrating pen of Greek Dr. Luke in his 17th chapter of the Book by his name. "Then as he entered a certain village, there met ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off." "And they lifted up their voices and said, 'Isa, Master, have mercy on us.'" "So when he saw them, he said to them, 'Go, show yourselves to the priests'. And so it was, as they went, they were cleansed." "Now one of them when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified ALLAH, and fell down on his face at his feet giving him thanks. (But he was not a Jew.) He was a Samaritan." "So Isa answered and said, 'Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine (9) (Jews?)'" "Were there not any found who returned to give glory to ALLAH except this foreigner?" I cannot restrain myself from mentioning what I see as an exceptionally relevant point of how these nine (9) full of entitlement attitude Jewish lepers are so representative of the attitudes of current Middle East Jews, and the way the U.S. Congress and White House Administration still ingratiatingly treats the Israelis. Though the Israelis constantly exhibit this arrogant lack of appreciation, there exists an eerie contradiction. Apparently the only issue that Republicans and Democrats consistently reach bi-partisan agreement on is this. Possibly because of guilt over the holocaust and supposedly being able to find no redeeming value in Muslim Palestinians and other Muslim Arabs. And also because of votes. The Republican and Democrats always agree to give the Israelis everything they want while simultaneously being mean and vindictive to their Palestinian victims. "And I bring the dead to life by ALLAH's empowerment." Al-Imran 3:49. The Messiah had a great appreciation for the family unit and brothers and sisters being responsible for each others' welfare. Especially did this occur in the absence of living parents when for whatever reason the siblings had not married? So the small Lazuras' family was quite probably still living together taking care of each other in their now deceased parents' home. And such was the case of Maryam, Martha, and their brother Lazarus, who were very close friends with the Messiah and his colleagues. The Messiah was extremely concerned about Lazarath's health when the two sisters sent word to him that their brother Lazarus was sick. For he knew in those days many, many centuries before the telephone, that the two sisters would not have gone to the trouble to send word to him about their sick brother unless he was on the doorstep of death. By the time that the Messiah had arrived at their far away town of Bethany, the brother was wrapped in his grave clothes in his tomb and had been deceased for four days, Isa was so grieved when he accompanied Maryam to the tomb where his body was that he wept. Then he requested that the large stone that was blocking the entrance to the tomb which was a cave, be taken away. Martha, the other sister, was so concerned about the bad odor of the dead body that when he made this request to remove the stone she protested. She said that there would be a bad smell for her brother had been dead for four days. Then the compassionate Messiah replied to her as recorded in John eleven. "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of ALLAH?" Then the Messiah lifted up his eyes and prayed. Then he cried out with a loud voice and said: "Lazarus, come forth!" "He who had died came out, bound hand and foot with grave clothes and his face was wrapped with a cloth and Isa said to them," "Take off the grave clothes and let him go!" Similar as how it had been when the Messiah had given the man born blind his sight, the powerful Jewish authorities would not allow this occasion where two sisters received their brother back to life, who was undoubtedly the sisters' main provider, to be a happy occasion. For the Chief Priests and the Pharisees from that day on plotted to put the Messiah to death for the Compassionate miracle of giving two grieving sisters back their only brother. Yet, the situation became even worse. A few days later it is recorded that Jewish officials were also considering murdering the formerly dead, but now alive Lazarus. "But the Chief Priests took counsel that they might also put Lazarus to death." Yes, then as now, and as Gaza and the murdering of the nine (9) Turks on the peace ships regretfully illustrate that the preservation of human life is often a very low priority for Israeli leaders even now. It is not only foreigners who are the victims in Israel and even beyond its borders. Yes, it is not only Palestinians, Gazans, Turks, and even the over thirty defenseless American sailors on board the U.S. ship Liberty in International waters or even ALLAH's own blessed Messiah two thousand years ago who are the victims of Israel's low value on life. But this low value on life does not seem to even bother American Congress persons, whether they are Democrats or Republicans, whether they are female or male, or whether they are Jewish or are not Jewish. For even the public day light murder of the publicly elected Prime Minister of Israel as he was giving a speech, seemed not to be a big deal for many Israeli officials and ordinary citizens. For it is well known that the young calloused assassin who in cold blood gunned down their own Prime Minister, is even now personally revered by many Israeli citizens and even by some influential Israeli leaders. For it is well known throughout the entire world that this convicted murderer of Israeli's own Prime Minister enjoys while in prison, the special privilege and joy of having his young girlfriend visit him in a special prison room so that they can enjoy sexual relations together. So the convicted assassin of Israel's own Prime Minister has even fathered their child in prison. Yet, he is in prison for the cruel murder of their own Prime Minister. Isn't that all that needs to be said about the low value of human life in Israel? Yet, the Nation of Israel is the Nation that the U.S. empowers to treat cruelly their exploited, imprisoned and too often murdered Palestinian victims with the open approval and support of the entire U.S. government and the vast majority of American citizens. And this is due to the immoral pressure of the amoral Israeli Lobby which controls so many U.S. votes. Can anybody be convinced that this immoral implicit arrangement between the U.S. and Israel has ALLAH's approval and blessing? No! No! No! But still, with the current American leaders in power, it is the Israelis who can do no wrong. This is even according to statements made by our Vice President, Joe Biden. And it is the Palestinian victims who can do no right. Yet, in America the so called Christians (what some of these unstable men actually are in the sight of ALLAH, I will leave to ALLAH to reveal in His time in His way) possibly will receive protection for having a public burning of the Qur'an. While in the Muslim world the Christian Bible is highly honored and is never even allowed to be placed on the floor. It is wonderful that this Messiah Man from Bethlehem would heal persons who were born without sight and would be willing to suffer from the authorities for doing so. He would heal lepers even when the Israeli lepers were unanimous in not being thankful. He would raise a man from death so he could again feed his two adult sisters, but he would have his own death plotted by the Jews for providing this help for two sisters. No wonder that he would be portrayed by the Holy Qur'an as being eminent (wajeh) in this world and also be eminent in the next as stated in the Qur'an's Al-Imran 3:45: "His name will be the Messiah Isa, the Son of Maryam, held in honor in this world and in the Hereafter and will be one of those who are near to ALLAH." Thus, the Qur'an makes it abundantly clear that ALLAH would give the Qur'an's own Messiah Isa clear signs or miracles and proofs and that He did not give to all His messengers equally strong gifts. For immediately before the Qur'an spoke of Isa in Al-Baqara 2:253, it is stated that He raised some to degrees and that he gave clear proofs (miracles) and evidences and supported him (Isa) with Ruh-ul-Qudus (Jibrael). But the one consistent outcome of Isa using the gift to perform miracles that he received from ALLAH is that when he faithfully used the gifts for the benefit of the needy, he usually got into deep trouble with the religious system. For that system was not in agreement with ALLAH or in agreement with the Qur'an that the needy be helped. But being in trouble with the authorities is what a true Prophet often endures. (Al-Baqarah 2:253). "Those Messengers! We prefered some of them to others: to some of them ALLAH spoke: others he raised to degree and to Isa, the son of Maryam, We gave clear proofs and evidences and supported him with Ruh-ul-Qudus (Jibrael). One such miracle of healing that got Isa into loads of trouble is described in the Injeel of John 5. This account vividly illustrates how the Qur'an's Messiah obedience to ALLAH to heal the person in severe physical distress inevitably ended up with the Jewish authorities renewing their efforts not to arrest but to murder him. Near the Pool and Near TroubleNow there was a certain man near a famous pool in Jerusalem who had a severe infirmity for thirty eight (38) years. "When Isa saw him lying there and knew that he had already been in that condition a long time, he said to him, 'Do you want to be made well?'" "The sick man answered him, 'Sir, I have no man to put me in the pool when the water is stirred up '" "Isa said to him, 'Rise, take up your bed and walk.'" "And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.'" (But the Sabbath was the day on which Jews were not allowed to work so it was a day that even ALLAH through Ruh-ul-Qudus was not allowed to empower His Compassionate Messiah to heal a man who had been suffering with a severe physical ailment for thirty eight (38) long years. But according to the Jewish legalist's of that time, and according to some Iranian legalists and Taliban today, there are certain acts of mercy that even ALLAH is forbidden to get involved in.) When the Jews observed the former severely handicapped invalid carrying his bed on the Sabbath Day, they blew their tops and climbed all over him. So when the Jewish authorities discovered that it was the Messiah who had healed the man, the normal intuitive response would have been for them to express to him their appreciation for him having healed one of their own fellow Jews who had been suffering from a severe physical affliction for so long. But mercy in these authorities' minds had long before shriveled into a small worm and had died. So you are forced to think counter-intuitively when encountering the way the religious establishment in Jerusalem often conducted themselves toward often innocent people and still do. So this long establishment mentality helps us to understand why today so many very innocent Palestinians are languishing as innocent victims in the numerous Israeli jails or prisons. When the former paralytic found out that it was the Messiah Isa who had made him well because he had not before known the identity of his healer, "he departed and told the Jews that it was Isa who had made him well." John 5:16 states: "For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus and sought o kill him because he had done these things on the Sabbath." But the courageous Isa of the Qur'an and the Injeel could not pass up an opportunity to try to help the Jews realize the vast difference in the way that they don't show mercy and the way the true ALLAH does show mercy even to a man who in their minds was a seemingly useless invalid. "But Isa answered them, 'My father, (he often thought of ALLAH as his loving, merciful father) has been working until now and I have been working.'" "Therefore, the Jews all the more sought to kill him because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said that GOD was his Father, making hiself equal with GOD." (The reality is that the Jews who were confronting Isa were just plain wrong about Isa or anyone else making themselves equal with GOD by calling GOD their Father. Because if they had read Zabur/Psalm 89:26 they would have seen that King David said of GOD "You are my Father." But the Jews were maliciously using this "Father" talk as one more illegitimate excuse for planning to kill their own Messiah.) No matter what the Jewish authorities said about Isa, no matter where he was, The Qur'an stands firm. The Qur'an consistently maintains that Isa was always blessed by ALLAH wherever he was. Maryam 19:31 "And He (ALLAH) had made me blessed wheresoever I be." The Qur'an strongly urged believers to follow the Qur'an's Isa and classified those who did follow the Qur'an's Isa as superior to those who did not follow Isa until the Day of Resurrection. (Al-Imran 3:55) "I am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and setting these who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection." The Qur'an's Isa came with clear signs in order to provide them wisdom and to straighten out points on which they disputed. Yet, today neither Jews, Muslims nor Christians take him at all seriously when it comes to disputes about the very land to which he came and where he lived. Yet he did establish his authority there, with many miracles and clear signs. Still, none of the three monotheistic religions give any more than superficial lip service to these miracles and to this unique man. Thus, his Jewish brothers and sisters ignored and continue to totally ignore his clear signs. And though the Qur'an reveals that he said he was to be obeyed, today he definitely is not obeyed. Furthermore, his wisdom about not depending on weapons is flagrantly ignored for today we are actually worshipping weapons. In other words, the Qur'an's Messiah of Al-Zukhruf 43:63 is totally ignored and flagrantly disobeyed by virtually everyone, especially by highly educated leaders who appear to be void of the Spirit of ALLAH. "When Isa came to you with Wisdom and in order to make Clear to you some of the (points) on which you dispute: therefore, fear ALLAH and obey me." (Al Zukhruf 43:63) According to the Qur'an's Al-Zukhruf 43"61, it is Isa who is ALLAH's sign for possibly the most important coming event to ever occur which will vitally affect the destiny of every person in the entire world. It is the climax of history in the event that is known in the Qur'an as the Hour, the Hour of Resurrection or the Day of Judgment. Yet, the fact that Isa has this significance in the Qur'an is taken seriously by only an extremely small percentage of the world's population. But thankfully, Isa is known by a much greater percentage of Muslims than by Christians as a sign far this important hour. Yet, with the stunning lack of significance that everyone treats the fact that the Qur'an's Isa is a sign for this greatly significant event, means that it does not have much impact on their consciences. "And he (Isa) son of Maryam shall be a known sign for the Hour. Therefore, have no doubt concerning it." Az-Zukhruf 43:61. Muslim leaders effectively cancel the entire Injeel by falsely claiming that the Qur'an teaches that it had been changed so that it has lost its authority. Emphatically the Qur'an does not teach that the Scriptures have been changed. It is exceptionally significant that the Qur'an makes clear that the Qur'an's Isa both confirms the Torah and was given the Injeel which is a guidance and light. But if the allegation of Muslims is taken seriously and all of the guidance and light is really not there because of the Scriptures supposedly being changed, then all of ALLAH's guidance and light has been wasted and has been figuratively flushed down the drain. "And in their foot steps, we sent Isa, son of Maryam, confirming the Torah that had come before him, and we gave him the Injeel which was guidance and light and confirmation of the Taurat." According to the Qur'an's Al-Anbiya 21:91, the Qur'an's son of Maryam and his mother are signs for Al-Alamin which is all of mankind and even for the jinn. And that is not an insignificant sign that ALLAH has appointed for Isa and for his Virgin Mother to be for the benefit of the entire world. "And we made her and her son a sign for Al-Alamin." This next verse we will consider and the verse following it are probably the two most controversial, yet most important verses in the entire Qur'an. But An-Nisa 4:157 and 158 suddenly become uncontroversial when Muslim leaders allow the ALMIGHTY ALLAH to be the ALMIGHTY ALLAH instead of ignoring or canceling what He has to say about His own Messiah's death and resurrection in their own Noble Qur'an in five seperate resurrection verses of: the Qur'an's Al-Ma'idah 5:117, Al-An'am 6:122, Surah Maryam 19:33,34, An-Nisa 4:158,and Al-Imran 3:55. An-Nisa 4:157 definitely has a statement in this one isolated verse that states that the Messiah was not killed and not crucified. But I have shown in other papers, that there are very logical ways of explaining this verse so that it must not be taken literally. Because the next verse states that ALLAH used His Wisdom and His Might to raise him up. So when ALLAH's own words spoken in Al-Imran 3:55 are factored into the understanding of whether the Qur'an's Messiah did definitely die and rise from death, there is no doubt that ALLAH's own authoritative statement that he did die and rise has mountains more authority and dependability than a mystical-mortal-man-made-magical-myth that has no foundation in the Qur'an. So it is a logical conclusion that ALLAH's statement verifying that Messiah's death and resurrection emphatically settles the matter forever, I will not use the space to quote An-Nisa 4:157, but will only quote the one verse that emphatically presents the resurrection before a man-made-myth is used to wrongly cancel it. And I will also quote the one verse stated by ALLAH Himself strongly affirming both the Qur'an's Messiah's death and His miraculous being raised to new life by ALLAH. An-Nisa 4:158 "But ALLAH raised him up unto Himself and ALLAH is Ever Mighty, Wise." It is fitting that this non-comprehensive paper about the Qur'an's own Messiah has as its next to last verse commented upon from the Qur'an, a comprehensive verse which includes a strong declaration by the Almighty, All-Knowing ALAH Himself. This vastly important proclamation is the exceptionally relevant reality that though in the un-comprehendible purposes of ALLAH that He did allow His own Messiah to die, that as 4:158 clarifies by including more details of how his Mighty resurrection was accomplished, that ALLAH did raise him up unto Himself. (Al-Imran 3:55) Behold! ALLAH said: O Isa! I will cause you to die (mutawafiik) and raise you to myself and clear thee of those who blaspheme: I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith." Having clearly demonstrated from the Qur'an itself that the Qur'an teaches that its own Messiah both died and was raised by ALLAH, in conclusion I will bring to our attention what many Muslim leaders would not include in a paper about the Holy Qur'an's Isa-Al-Messiah. Because they will suggest that the term, "your Lord", as is used in this verse is referring to ALLAH and not to the Holy Qur'an's Messiah, in this climactic, epochal Al-Fajr 89:22 verse about Judgment. But I strongly disagree with their perspective and objection due to two important reasons. First of all, the verse refers to ALLAH coming which implies His moving from one place to another. But according to distinguished Islamic theologians, moving from one place to another is something that ALLAH does not do because He already fills space and is everywhere. Therefore, it is not ALLAH who comes with rows of angels, but it is Isa-al-Messiah who is coming. The second reason that makes it conclusive that this is the Qur'an's Messiah who is coming to Judge is this the Qur'an itself make it very clear that it authoritatively confirms the previous Scriptures and those previous Scriptures such as Jude, the next to last Book of the Injeel, contains an almost identical verse as the Holy Qur'an's Al-Fajr 89:22. Therefore, it is with great comfort and joy that my final words in this paper are not my words, but are words that insure Justice and Comfort and are from the Holy Qur'an. So as the title of this last Book states, the Qur'an's Messiah will bring to our world a new Fajr, a new Dawn. "And your Lord comes with the angels in rows." Al-Fajr 89:22 The Dawn. Answering the Questions Raised By This Account of the Qur'an's Compassionate Messiah1. So what is the big deal if the Qur'an's Messiah raised the dead and that the Jews wanted to kill him for bringing such a blessing? 2. What real difference does it make if he healed ten lepers and the nine Jews did not even thank him for ridding them of contagious leprosy 3. What does it matter if the Qur'an's Messiah gave sight to a person born blind and the Jewish apparatus so rudely interrogated the man's mother and dad so that they were almost frightened out of their underwear? 4. Who should care if the Qur'an's Messiah miraculously healed a discouraged invalid of 38 years so that as a result of that act of extreme mercy, the Jewish apparatus made official plans to murder him for being so merciful? 5. Shouldn't Muslims just ignore these miracles of the Qur'an's Messiah and also ignore the fact that the Qur'an called him Messiah (which means anointed or anointed by ALLAH) eleven times? 6. Isn't it just a reality to be ignored that the Qur'an's proclamation that its own Messiah is now eminent in this world though we do not now visibly see him, and also that he will be eminent in the world to come? 7. Is it any big deal that he is not only the Qur'an's and ALLAH's sign of the Hour of Judgment, but according to Al-Fajr, he himself will be coming with angles to Judge? 8. Is there any possibility that the mortal-man-manufacted-shubbiiha-myth has all its details correct so that Muslims should actually trust that marble-headed myth? Therefore, isn't it just peaches and cream and wonderful that as a direct result of that made-up myth, that Islam is stuck with a Messiah who cowardly escaped so that he would not need to go to the trouble of being empowered by ALLAH's Wisdom and Might to courageously defeat the heavily calloused Israeli apparatus and also to defeat death? 9. Or isn't there a much better chance that the Qur'an's Messiah did not cowardly escape? 10. Instead, is it not true that instead of escaping, ALLAH and the Qur'an wonderfully present a proclamation of the Qur'an's Messiah defeating death in Al-Imran 3:55 by ALLAH raising him up after his death? And that 3:55 statement by ALLAH Himself must cancel the wrong understanding of no death in An-Nisa 4:157. So wonderfully, the Qur'an, ALLAH, and vast multitudes of precious to ALLAH Muslims are no longer stuck with a cowardly Flee through the sky Messiah. Rather, in beautiful contrast to such a loser Messiah, isn't it much better that each Muslim is now blessed with the Spiritual omni-present presence of the Qur'an's and ALLAH's Risen, Courageous Messiah?
