AN OPEN LETTER TO ARAB DIPLOMATSMay 02 2002 Dear Arab Diplomats, I sincerely hope that this letter finds you and your families enjoying ALLAH’S Abundant Mercies. Today I would like to give each of you a relatively brief explanation of how I have arrived at the strange place of sending out hundreds of the enclosed cards informing influential Muslims through out the world of my new Web Site WWW.ALQASAS.NET Significantly, I had about twenty five hundred of these Arabic Cards and about fifteen hundred of these English Cards printed about ten years ago. I felt compelled by ALLAH to do this when I realized that especially Arabs of the Middle East should be assured that ALLAH holds nations accountable even when they claim to be totally humanitarian, if they deceive other nations and cause wars to occur. This accountability exists even though the leadership of the offending nation has immorally convinced itself that their deceptive war was for the good of the majority even though it brought great suffering to its victims. Consequently, the cards, through a cartoon and through a poem condemned certain United States Leaders for manipulating Iraq to invade Kuwait so that we could have the Gulf War. But, after mailing out a hundred or so of the cards in 1991 or 1992, I lost peace about mailing more. Over the years I resisted several decisions I almost made to throw them away. Originally, in my writing to Muslims my only intention was to make a case to Muslims that it was both logical and consistent to understand one verse in the Holy Qur’an in an alternate way to the way it is now understood. I wanted Muslims to understand that AN Nisa 4: 157 could and should be understood to mean that certain Jews did indeed cleverly manipulate the Romans to execute ALLAH’A Messiah Isa. But in a deeper spiritual sense, as the Qur’an significantly makes clear, the Messiah was neither killed nor crucified. It had only appeared to the Jews that they had killed him because a truly killed or truly crucified person remains dead. But, as the next verse emphatically reveals, the Messiah totally triumphed over the evil plans of certain Jewish leaders and death itself when Isa was raised (from the tomb) by ALLAH to be in His Presence. However, now I am also preoccupied with making a strong case that my government used considerable successful deception and evilly manipulated the Gulf War to occur. This was not going to be an emphasis of this mailing or my web site until an event occurred about April 7th on MSNBC that I found greatly offensive. A relatively young newsman who can be exceptionally arrogant (I see no reason to name him) was rudely interviewing a quite polite Kuwaiti Diplomat. The newsman was upset that some demonstrators in Kuwait who themselves were upset at the destruction in Jenin, would be so unappreciative toward the country that had rescued them from Iraq, that they would chant that the U.S. was evil. Whenever the Iraqi diplomat would politely attempt to clarify the context of the demonstrators’ remarks, the newsman would rudely interrupt him and state that there was no way that any Kuwaitis should be allowed to have such feelings since the U.S. had so unselfishly rescued them. I had seen such boasting about U.S. benevolence toward Kuwait before, but I had previously witnessed nothing so blatant and personally insulting. Then I realized that the lie we are living in the U.S. regarding our rescuing Kuwait is slowly destroying the soul of our nation. Therefore, I decided that I should again use my puny efforts to attempt to expose the lie. I am actually given a great deal of assistance in this exposure since it is public record that there were three different state department officials who made public announcements that the U.S. had no plans to defend Kuwait. (My web site paper, “Interview With The Prophet” goes into detail about this.) Also, the highly respected investigative journalist, Bob Woodward, in his well-documented and popular book, “Shadow,” makes a significant fact very clear. The Gulf War Bush administration was extremely worried that negotiations with Saddam Hussein for Iraq to leave Kuwait might be successful and thus prevent an all out war against the Iraqis. In light of the enormity of the U.S. crime against both the people of Kuwait and the people of Iraq by manipulating the Gulf War to occur, there is another mountain of relevant hypocrisy which comes into our vivid view. Is it not unmitigated hypocrisy for U.S. leaders to seek to defame the characters of each and every Palestinian man who is courageously fighting for his family, his land and for justice by maliciously branding each of them as terrorist? This consistently occurs while the U.S. does not acknowledge the terror which our nation caused to rain on Kuwaiti and Iraqi Arabs. When considering the thousands of Arab fathers, sons, and brothers that were brutally and needlessly killed in the Gulf War, a serious question begs to be answered. Does it not make much more sense for certain former and present U.S. officials to look into the mirror in order to more accurately determine what a true terrorist may actually look like? Of course, it may not be politically correct to label someone as a terrorist if ONLY Arabs are mainly their victims. Our present national attitudes as typified by the before mentioned naive national news authority, puts Kuwait in the position of a woman who has just been maliciously beaten and raped. But, in order to further humiliate her, and to more effectively mock her the depraved rapist forces his victim to express thankfulness to him for what he had done to her. He coerced her to say the following words: “I truly wish to express my sincere thankfulness to you for giving me the privilege of being brutally raped by someone so kind and benevolent as yourself.” Now my web site not only exposes the lie of the older Bush, but it also ridicules the young Bush and his partner, Dick Cheney, because they are perpetuating the misrepresentation of our having rescued Kuwait. (I honestly think President G.W. Bush does not know about the Deception, but Cheney was heavily involved in it.) The following are a few of the events that happened to me to lead me to be sending out this mailing which many people will criticize. But, I must be faithful to ALLAH and not to people’s opinions. In September of 1990 I was on a prayer walk near my home in Seattle’s University District. I was pleading with ALLAH to not allow the U.S. to begin bombing the Iraqis who had invaded Kuwait. I was praying that they would leave Kuwait as a result of diplomacy and not by being bombed into submission. After about one hour of praying, I expressed to ALLAH that I was exhausted from praying about such discouraging and depressing circumstances. I told Him that I would stop prayer for the day and begin to think about something that I enjoyed that would take my mind off the potential war. So, I began thinking about our new University of Washington Football team. While I was thinking about football, a concise statement was made in my mind that suddenly interrupted my thoughts. ALLAH concisely and emphatically stated to me; “The American Administration wanted (or planned for) Iraq to invade Kuwait.” Though I was convinced ALLAH was the source of the statement, I stopped, laughed out loud, looked around and said out loud, “Where did that came from?” Over the next few days as I watched and read the news, the statements accuracy became totally obvious. But since I was a relatively unknown person, I did not expect to be taken seriously if I attempted to share this statement with influential others. So, I only kept praying to Him who ultimately defeats all plotters. Then, soon after the Gulf War, I wrote a long comprehensive poem about the president’s thoughts of why he wanted to have the Gulf War. I called the poem, “The President’s Plan” and sent it with cover letter about how I received the words from GOD, to well over one hundred-congress persons. I also mailed copies in either English or Arabic to several hundred influential persons throughout the world. Except for one meaningful reply from congressman Henry Gonzalez of Texas, no other persons from congress responded to the content of my poem. However, a few did politely acknowledge receiving correspondence from me. But I did receive numerous replies from the Arab world including Iraq. Later I was told by a former diplomat from Iraq that he had seen the poem in Arabic in the Iraqi newspaper, Ath Thawra. Also, a well known Black activist with whom I very strongly disagreed politically, sent me a letter from Africa saying that he is very much appreciated how I exposed the probable causes of the Gulf War in my poem. This activist died over about two years ago and his name is Stockley Carmichael also known as Kwame Turre. Some months later I had a strong conviction that I was to send the poem with an additional cover letter to every law school in the U.S. I felt this would cause each law school to become accountable before ALLAH to at least look into the issues I raised in the poem. Or, if they did not, they would become complicit in the guilt of our nation by ignoring the seriousness of the potential crime of our nation. Because I was totally convinced that the U.S. had lured Iraq to invade Kuwait, I made a vivid comparison in my cover letter. I compared the immoral killing of the Iraqi Army as well as the killing of innocent Kuwaitis which occurred as well as many from other nations including from the Saudi Arabia and the U.S., to a well known convicted killer of that time period, Jeffrey Dalmer. This deranged person had lured boys into his apartment, then drugged them, then murdered them, then froze them and then ate them. Significantly, the only replies I received from the law schools were some letters requesting money to support their law schools. Not one out of all of the law schools in the entire United States commented about all of the evidence that indicated that the United States may have manipulated the Gulf War to occur. Now, ten years later, U.S. papers report that powerful civilians in our government are virtually coercing a reluctant military to make plans to this time invade Iraq in order to definitely kill or capture Saddam Hussein. Even more frightening than this planned invasion of the Arab World was a front page, May 9, 02, Christian Science Monitor article. It had this front-page headline. “New push for bunker- buster nuke” “This week congress considers the next step towards a controversial nuclear bomb the Pentagon sees as vital.” The article portrays the U.S. as convinced that there are more than 10,000 underground military facilities that are in more than seventy countries. Of these, 1,400 are suspected of containing weapons of mass destruction. So, the Bush Administration is developing more effective earth penetrating nuclear bombs to destroy the suspected weapons of mass destruction in the caves, which may also contain potential nuclear bombs. I find a plan that proposes using nuclear bombs to destroy potential nuclear bombs as beyond insane. The use of limited nuclear weapons to destroy potential nuclear weapons has so many built-in horrible consequences, that there are many vocal critics of such an insane plan. But, in the context of the present hysteria and zeal to make the whole world safe from evil, it appears that opposition to this bizarre plan soon will be either silenced or marginalized. If there is a psychological battle between Osama Bin Laden and the Bush Administration, it appears that Bin Laden has already won. The hysterical response of the present administration appears to be more dangerous and sinister than the very real threat which exists. So please oh Arab and Muslim thinkers. Consider whether I am overly religious or overly critical? Or, is there an imperative for all of us, to increase our prayers and to expose U.S. Unilateralism, U.S. and Israeli arrogance, U.S. and Israeli Deception, U.S. and Israeli Hypocrisy, U.S. and Israeli Racism towards Arabs, U.S. and Israeli Lack of Fear of ALLAH, and U.S. and Israeli Idolatry of Militarism? And also please decide if we all have a responsibility to warn the world of the potential tragic consequences that will inevitably come from powerful U.S. leaders who worship the idol of technology and who also bow to the idol of military supremacy. May we all unite together in faithfulness to ALLAH to pray that this DECEPTION, ARROGANCE and HYPOCRISY will be exposed and that ALLAH will teach especially the U.S. how to negotiate rather than to kill every one with whom we disagree or whom we perceive to be a threat. Respectfully, Tom Griffith, Abu Toma P.S. Are there not Godly Muslims who are respected Arab leaders who can personally visit Saddam Hussein? With help from ALLAH, they can warn him of the terrifying eternal judgment he may be bringing on himself. They can also help him understand that ALLAH holds him personally responsible for any destruction he will inevitably bring to his own people and to the Arab world if Iraq possesses chemical, biological or nuclear weapons. I am sincerely convinced that when the right persons have ALLAH’S help, they will be more effective with Iraq than U.S. bombs and U.S. troops. Also, circumstances dictate that we all must unite in prayer to request wisdom and courage for all Arab leaders. We must plead to the ALMIGHTY that these leaders will not give in to promises or bribes of monetary assistance to their nations if they cooperate in risky military ventures with the U.S. that may bring great harm to their people. They must realize that certain ventures, which are supposed to destroy evil, may bring more destruction to their nation than the evil they were designed to prevent. back to "My Earlier Stirrings" page
