The Dismantling of a Former Great Nation:
A Want-To-Be John Wayne and a Jay Leno Impersonator Are Accomplishing This Daunting Task.

In the absence of Batman and Robin, the U.S. Government has produced its own Dynamic Duo. But instead of saving our nation like the two cartoon heroes always did, these two blood and flesh government leaders are effectively destroying it. Tragically, this is occurring while millions of Americans are hypnotized into standing by and cheering these two actor’s masterful performance.

On Thursday, February 20, 2003, two quite related events took place. All those MSNBC Cable News watchers of Chris Matthews, Hardball, observed one event. On that program, they were treated to an expose of the Jay Leno want-to-be, Donald Rumsfield, and the U.S. Secretary of Defense. (Hardball is a program that attempts to face the hard issues confronting our world.)

The other event was less dramatic but did merit a page 8 article in the next day’s morning paper. This event was the conviction of an in debt ex-serviceman who was attempting to solve his financial problems by selling intelligence information to Iraq and China. This man barely escaped the death penalty for his criminal attempt to betray his country even though no information was passed and no permanent damage was done to our nation.

In an amazing contrast, the two governmental leaders who are doing irreparable damage to this nation, are considered heroes by the majority of Americans and no punishment is being considered for either of them except the self inflicted punishment of observing their own nation crumble under their inept leadership.

The Editor of the respected magazine The Nation, while being interviewed on Hard Ball, used very basic words to describe the exceptionally destructive performance of the secretary of Defense to whom she more accurately referred to as the “Secretary of War.” This articulate and well informed editor, Katrina Vanden Heuvel, used such terms as, imperial bully, unilateral arrogance, name calling, a shame to America, and leaving this nation with no allies, in order to draw attention to the irreparable damage being done by this naive, want-to-be comedian, the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

To follow the example of Donald Rumsfield and attempt to find humor in a very serious situation, we will play on the names of both the Secretary of Defense and the President. So we ask, how can we expect more sober comments from a man intoxicated from so much rum in his field? (Rumsfield) Along this same line of playing with words, can we expect any more intelligent supervision from his presidential supervisor, who may be president, but figuratively is only a bush? Is it reasonable to expect a shoot from the HIP bush to control or correct a shoot from the LIP rum filled, intoxicated with power, want-to-be comedian?

It seems appropriate to question the relationship between the current President’s well-publicized Christian religious experiences with his apparent lack of normal wisdom. The President has unashamedly credited the Reverend Dr. Billy Graham for helping him in his personal commitment to the Living Christ, which enabled him to overcome his partial addiction to alcohol.

There are also some other quite relevant issues addressed by the Messiah, which go well beyond on addiction to alcohol. Significantly, our Messiah, according to what Christians celebrate at Easter, remains very much alive and will one day be our Living Judge. Since he remains powerfully alive in ALLAH’s majestic presence, you would think that our “Christian President” would take some of his own more tangible and relevant comments very seriously.

Possibly the most glaring contradiction seems to be this President’s ability to take the Lord’s words, “He who lives by weapons will die by weapons,” and not to see those words as exceptionally contradictory to the way he sees weapons as the first, second and third dealing with perceived enemies.

When it comes to the effect of words, President Bush appears to have very little sense of good judgment. Apparently, he sees no problem with the way an intoxicated with power, Donald Rumsfield, uses his poison tongue to purposely offend important world leaders while simultaneously making reporters laugh, while the Living Messiah emphasized that men’s idle words will come back to judge them, and bring them irreparable harm.

You would also think that the horrible experience of a former leader of Iraq so vividly portrayed in the Bible’s book of Daniel would have a valuable impact on this proud president’s attitude. So grave and relevant was the lesson learned by this former leader of the mighty Babylonian Empire that our president should insist that each arrogant member of his own administration would seriously ponder the relevant lesson so painfully learned by the ancient Iraqi, King Nebuchadnezzar.

In what is now present-day Iraq, ALLAH Himself made certain that this ancient leader suffered severe punishment for his unbridled arrogance. That King endured a severe mental collapse and lived lower than an animal for several years, until he could understand that ALLAH Himself visits severe Judgment on leaders who wallow in the slime of their own self-importance and arrogance.

Certain American leaders such as the President and his Secretary of Defense have absolutely no concept of the rewards of humility or of the exceptionally negative long-range consequences of despicable arrogance. So with this irreparable damage that they have done and are doing to the nation that they claim that they are protecting, they are like circus clowns dismantling their big tent for the last time, not realizing there will be no more entertaining performances.

With a few minor modifications, a famous children’s nursery rhyme about an arrogant king named “Humpty Dumpty,” seems to poetically describe the present day irreparable damage being done by America’s dynamic duo. There is considerable evidence that the “Shoot from the Hip,” Bush, and the “Shoot form the Lip,” Rumsfield, have brought our nation near the fate experienced by the bumbling King, “Humpty, and Dumpty.” This is because it is quite probable that a majority of the world will never forgive this nation for the way we have squandered the goodwill they had for us after the tragedy of 9/11. But our own hysteria and tunnel vision regarding the supposed weapons of mass destruction threat of Iraq, has made these nation’s former goodwill, ancient history. These two U.S. leaders disparage every leader and every nation, which will not immediately jump on our “Solve the Problem by Weapons” Bandwagon. Our power-intoxicated leaders don’t understand that destroying trust and goodwill with other nations can and will do much more long range irreparable harm to our nation than of her nation’s weapons of mass destruction will ever do. So we must learn to deal with these potential weapons of mass destruction in more resourceful ways than seeing overwhelming military force as option one, two and three. They don’t seem to be able to grasp the fairly uncomplicated reality that when you cause more persons to be committed to committing acts of terroe, more acts of terror will occur.

Eliminating or even containing terror activity calls for the cooperation of many nations. A president whose mentality is a mixture of John Wayne, Rambo, and the Lone Ranger cannot effectively accomplish it. This mentality will not prove to be effective even though the President has the international support of the newest Bettle, Tony, who is blaring out his latest not so popular tune, “I want to be a lonely Bush in the desert.” The popular myth that the most effective way to protect the world is by murdering Iraqis, must finally be laid to rest.

Humpty Dumpty Bush

Humpty Dumpty Bush stood up tall.

Humpty Dumpty Bush had a great fall.

All the President’s weapons

And all the President’s men

Could not put Humpty Dumpty Bush

(Or his Nation)

Back together again.

Oh Merciful, please forgive these intoxicated, myopic men, for they have no awareness of the long-range consequences of what they are doing.
