Why do I write?
My heart is fully convinced
Palestinians are cruelly
Deprived of Justice.
So I must write,
For if I do not
Like a fallen leaf,
I will shrivel and die.
Why do I write?
My heart is fully convinced
Al Qurans’s Messiah
Conquered Death and Arose
So I must write
For if I do not
Like a tree without water,
I will wither and die
Why do I write?
My heart is fully convinced,
Millions yet to embrace Risen Isa
Truly seek ALLAH’s Great Gift.
So I must write
For if I do not
Like a fallen leaf
I will shrivel and die
Why do I write?
My heart is fully convinced
Multitudes who say, “I know him,”
Neglect compassion and justice.
So I must write,
For if I do not
Like a tree without water,
They may wither and die.
Why do I write?
Being slow of speech
I watch , listen and pray.
Barely can I write.
But I must write,
For if I do not,
Like a fallen leaf,
I will shrivel and die.
Why do I write?
For my own Nation, I have great fear.
National leaders choose
Arrogance, votes and militarism.
So Americans must warn,
For if we do not,
Like empires before us,
Our nation will shrivel and die.
Why do I write?
ALLAH loves the nations.
His Anointed’s love compels me
To proclaim and to warn.
So I must write,
For if I do not,
Like a tree without water,
I will wither and die.
Why do I write?
When ALLAH is with me
It is His Will I obey.
When He may not be,
I try but may fail.
But if I fail to try,
My greatest fear is guaranteed.
I may have said “No” to ALLAH.
